Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES!), has been working as the one of the most eminent business club for undergraduate students at North South University since 1994. Over the years, the club has become a well-integrated, national business fraternity for students standing for the highest ideals of conduct and achievement in university and professional life. NSU YES! has dedicated itself to forming an entrepreneurial platform among the students. The members of YES! are committed to serving the community and develop conscientious participation in civic activities, build unity within the organizations and establish networks that extend beyond university career. The brands of NSU YES! are NSUers Meet Corporate Icons – a seminar series, “Masters of Ideation – a strategy-based business competition and Ad Maker Bangladesh -The biggest creative fight of the nation.

Like every year, this year was no different. NSU YES! and Robi proudly presented the biggest Inter-University Marketing Competition “Robi Ad Maker Bangladesh 2016’ colored by Elite paints”. AD Maker Bangladesh is the biggest marketing competition in the country in terms of participating teams and prize money. YES! has been effectively undertaking this competition for the last 6 years and eventually it has become the largest inter-university competition where the participants get the opportunity to prove their talent in advertising arena incorporating IMC tools. This year more than 305 teams are participating. Robi presented Ad maker Bangladesh co-sponsored by Elite paints commenced on 6th May 2016 at the workshop . The first, second and third round will be scheduled on 13th May, 16th May, and 27th May respectively.

On the workshop, NSU YES! arranged a stage for the participants where they can perceive some corporate legends and learn some key skills about marketing strategy. This workshop helped the participants device a clear vision about the biggest marketing competition and prepare themselves for the creative fight ahead. This was a big opportunity for the young creative fighters to learn something about marketing strategy and get a clear notion of what Ad Maker is all about. The first speaker was Fahim Khan, Manager of strategic planning, ADcomm Ltd. He talked about brand essence, brand positioning. For him brand is like a person’s character, it does not change always. To build a brand you have to make a promise and fulfill it. Regarding this, he discussed the concept of MICE – most important change to encourage. It is very important in order to develop a product vs brand relationship. He talked about some successful campaigns and how brands developed. Robi campaign for women, Robi smile campaign, Fair & Lovely Foundation Campaign for women and Ispahani Mirzapore Tea were the biggest successful campaign by a consummate strategic planning.

The second honorable speaker was Mukit Ahmed, General Manager (Head of Social media) at Robi Axiata Ltd. First, he reintroduced everyone with the true essence of marketing. According to him, marketing is all about creating influence, creating value to the audience and thus automatically creating sales. He pointed out why and how to target the audience for a social media campaign. He differentiated how the media changed from before. Then he gave a vision of upcoming social media impact.

The third honorable speaker was M. Ahmedun Faiez, Account director, Starcom Bangladesh and Bitopi Advertising Limited. His presentation was on efficient media planning. He gave an idea about Starcom, media planning terms, planning strategies, toolkits and process and media innovations. He introduced media agencies and how they work. Media planning, criteria, and checklist is an important factor of concern for any media agency. At the end, he highlighted some successful events of Starcom.

On 1st June 2016 the creative fight for this year will be put to an end and from 305 teams the best team will be crowned the next Ad maker. Robi Ad Maker Bangladesh 2016 is supported by our electronic media partner Ekattur TV, online media partner SD Asia, print media partner The Daily Samakal, Youth engagement partner The Daily Star, Radio partner Radio Foorti. The stage is all set for finding the next Ad maker.
