SD Asia, the largest content and event making platform for Bangladeshi startups, is bringing some of the prominent names in startup ecosystem from around the world to this year’s Innovation Xtreme, on December 5th. 2015. This year there will be more than 10 interactive sessions, where renowned speakers will reflect upon various aspects of Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem, such as–funding, technology, communication, innovation, and networking. Here are some sneak-peeks into this year’s major sessions:
Topic: Putting Bangladesh on the Tech Map

Tobias Puehse (VP, MasterCard)
Tobias Puehse leads innovation management at MasterCard Labs Asia Pacific. Prior to joining MasterCard, Mr. Puehse held key leadership positions in the Innovation Practice at The Nielsen Company. (he is also talking in Fireside Chat: Innovation Without Execution is only innovation session)
Warren Leow (Executive Director, MaGic Malaysia)
Warren Leow is the founder of MaGIC Accelerator Program, which provides training programs to help startups grow. Warren is also the founder of Guru-App, a learning management platform with 50+ apps. Warren has a unique oversight for Strategic Partnerships and Investor Relations.
Pratibha Sastry (Startup Evangelist & Entrepreneur)
Pratibha has worked closely with startups, mentors, investors and organizations like Microsoft Ventures. Through her activities with PS Academy, she helped women entrepreneurs in India.
At this year’s Innovation Xtreme Tobias Puehse, Warren Leow, Pratibha Sastry are going to talk about ‘how can growing startup ecosystems (like Bangladesh) create its own niche, work together regionally and draw investment’. Warren is going to talk about the requirements needed to make an accelerator program successful. Pratibha is going share her experience from working with Microsoft Venture’s accelerator program in India. Tobias is going to talk about Mastercard’s FinTech Accelerator program in Bangladesh and how it is trying to solve the various payments obstacles entrepreneurs face regarding their startups.

Waseem Alim (Founder, Chalda)
Before Chaldal – an online shop in Dhaka, Waseem worked at Sigfig, a Silicon Valley financial technology startup. He aspires to change the culture in Bangladesh so that people value investment in bold ideas and become more accepting of new technology.
Hideki Fujita (Founder,SEGNEL Ventures Pte. Ltd)
Prior to founding SEGNEL, Hideki was the co-founder of COENT Venture Partners, which provides seed and venture-stage funding to brilliant entrepreneurs and companies across various sectors in Asia.
Fahim Mashroor (CEO, Bdjobs.com Ltd)
Fahim Mashroor has over one decade of experience in the IT industry of Bangladesh. He is the founder of Bdjobs.com, which is also one of the top five job sites in South Asia. In 2008, Fahim Mashroor was awarded “Best Innovative Entrepreneur” by DCCI.
Maliha Quadir (Founder, Managing Director at Shohoz.com)
Maliha has recently run Vistaprint’s digital business in global emerging markets out of Singapore. Prior to this, she worked for Nokia, taking care of strategy and business development for emerging markets.
Syeed Khan (Chief Executive Officer, Osiris Bangladesh)
Syeed is Chief Executive Officer of Osiris Fund Bangladesh. He sits on the board of directors of Solaric, Surecash (Progoti Systems) and AFC Health. He co-founded AT Capital in 2007, an investment banking boutique and is Chairman of AT Capital Asset Management.
At this year’s Innovation Xtreme, Waseem Alim, Hideki Fujita, Fahim Mashroor, Maliha Quadir and Syeed Khan their experiences in Bangladesh’s funding scenario. They will highlight–what investors look for in a startup, and how startups can attract foreign/local investors. The audience will have a chance to hear from both sides–the founders and the investors–and know how real deals work in the real world.

Qasim Rana (Founder & CEO of Gobd): Qasim Rana has worked in the field of Satellite Communications for over 10 years. He is a graduate of renown George Washington University.
Qasim Rana is the founder and CEO of Gobd. At Innovation Xtreme 2015, he is going to talk about Bangladesh’s traffic problem and GObd’s unique solutions to counter that problem.

Anis Uzzaman, Ph.D. is the General Partner, CEO and founding member of Fenox Venture Capital, a Silicon Valley-based VC with strong global network and investments. Anis has invested in over 65 startups in the United States, Japan, and South East Asia.
