Anwar (Khandaker) Ehtesham

With 8 years of professional experience in Marketing, Communication, Branding and Qualitative Research, Anwar Khandaker Ehtesham is objectively conscious of the ever changing marketing environment and is not afraid of even the toughest challenges.

His entire career so far has been in different areas of marketing having a unique blend of experience of advertising agencies and corporate. He has firsthand experience of working with some diverse global and local brands such as Coca-cola, Nestlé, American Express, Intel, Siemens, BSRM, Perfetti Van Melle, Meril, Polar and many more. In these companies he excelled in managing multidimensional projects concurrently with strong detail and demonstrated abilities to manage and motivate cohesive teams that achieve results. He also played vital role in branding and re-branding initiatives of United Commercial Bank Limited (UCB) and Bank Asia Limited (BAL) where he developed and introduced complete Brand Book followed by two successful TV commercials, product rebranding and corporate branding which gave geometric growth to these banks.

His undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate education from AIUB, East West University and IBA respectively has been in marketing and communication fields. SMO Nawed is social media strategist by ownership, creative strategist for an agency by passion and currently Assistant Manager for Cute, a 40 year old personal care brand of Mousumi Industries. SMO Nawed was brought onto the ship by the CMO, largely suggesting fresh new move to extend product line and draw strategic goodwill. Earlier in 2012 SMO Nawed launched the 1st digital marketing agency in Bangladesh, Digimarka. It created the largest Bangladeshi fanpage, the highest viewed Bangladeshi commercial on youtube in a month and the most invited local brand application.

He also achieved awards from Promo Logic (Inter Uni), MAAW 2009 (Global Marketing) and Sharpener (Inter Advertising Agencies). Within 11 years of professional career, he loves mentioning the success of ‘Agora Fresh’ campaign during his years at Rahimafrooz. He attended workshops from some of the greatest global advertising individuals, brand personalities and digital marketing gurus of the time. He is the only Bangladeshi to participate on the Asia Pacific Young Marketers Workshop. Additionally he has also published articles on social media and digital advertising on The New Age and Economic Times.

Eeshita Azad

Eeshita Azad is a communications (social media and digital advertising) specialist and an arts event organizer with a career spanning over 12 years in advertising, cultural and development sector of New York, London and Dhaka. Eeshita is currently the Head of Arts for British Council, Bangladesh. She has a undergraduate degree in Art Practice in Middlesex University and has an associate degree in Advertising Design at Fashion Institute of Technology. Her specialties include communication strategies, media handling with a focus on partnership management and managing and producing cultural programs with experience of community outreach models.

In 2011 she founded Drishtipat Creative, a London based Arts collective for social causes. She was responsible for identifying and selecting strong partners with whom to promote the organization’s initiatives and events, liaise with local TV and print media to increase visibility of Drishtipat’s message. In 2012 she worked as the Communications Head of the Asia Foundation where she developed the overall communications strategy for the Asia Foundation which accurately, powerfully and persuasively communicated the nature of the organization’s work in Bangladesh and throughout the world. Currently she is the Head of Art at British Council and develops collaborative programmes and partnerships which deepen bilateral cultural understanding between Bangladesh and the UK through the arts.
Ahmed Shoyeb Iqbal

Senior Manager (Head of Department), Brand & Communication at Meena Bazar, Gemcon Group

Ahmed Shoyeb Iqbal is a brand building and communication expert with a BBA degree from North South University and an Msc in International Marketing & Management from University of London. He is currently Head of Department, Branding & Communication at Meena Bazar, Gemcon Group. Earlier he has worked at Grameenphone as Team Leader, Yum International Brands as Management Trainee and finally Gemcon Group as Brand Manager. So far he has led two successful projects at Meena Bazar, Gemcon Group.

The 1st one is ‘Meena Bazar Website’ the first fully dynamic and e-commerce based website in the retail industry in Bangladesh. The 2nd project is a loyalty program for the Meena Bazar customers called ‘Meena Bazar Club Card’ but only targeted towards those who are loyal and shopping with Meena Bazar for a long time. Currently there are 12000 members in this loyalty program.

Other than that Mr. Iqbal has increased customer count by 45% from 2009 to 2013 through his well thought out strategies and successfully launched more than 15 home brands and different marketing activities to increase sales. He has also established partnerships with MasterCard Global, Eastern Bank Limited, Ice Media Group, Hotel Cox Today, Bellisimo & White Hen Bakery. With such an impressive list of achievements, it is safe to say that Gemcon Group will only grow more in the future.

Asif Ahmed

Asif Ahmed is a seasoned leader who can direct an organization in the visioning of a marketing strategy, development of an economic business case and execution of an aggressive project plan. Armed with a BBA degree from Independent University Bangladesh , he began his career as Territory Office at British American Tobacco Bangladesh. Skilled in effective sales and marketing communications, business partnership development, team building and mentoring, he is currently the Head of Marketing at bKash Limited.

Earlier he has proven his leadership skill and marketing expertise as Head of Marketing, Airtel Bangladesh Limited, Marketing Director at Beximco Aviation – GMG Airlines Ltd and Head of Corporate Communications at Beximco Group. Asif Ahmed is a thoughtful and fact based leader that balances the needs of employees, external stakeholders and the objectives of shareholders.
