UFC 203 was the most bizarre UFC event to occur in some time.
First of all, the entire event was promoted around a spectacle fight that involved ex pro-wrestler CM Punk, despite the fact that a UFC heavyweight title match was the main event.
The UFC is not a stranger to putting on spectacle fights, most notably they did this with James Toney vs. Randy Couture. But with CM Punk he didn’t even have a background in combat sports at all, it makes as much sense as him going to compete in the NHL or NBA.

That wasn’t the only strange thing to occur throughout the course of UFC 203’s fight week however. It was as if the bizarre aura attached to CM Punk’s MMA debut enveloped the entire event, and resulted in several other strange occurrences as well.
Out of all the ridiculousness that was involved in UFC 203, here are the top 7 weird things to happen…
7. C.B Dollaway injured in an elevator accident
CB Dollaway has been knocked out by Mark Munoz, Lyoto Machida, Jared Hamman and now an elevator.
A freak elevator accident caused middleweight CB Dollaway to have to withdraw from UFC 203. Urijah Faber, Yancy Medeiros, Brad Tavares and Fabricio Werdum were also in the elevator at the time, but Dollaway is said to be the only fighter to sustain injuries.
The elevator malfunctioned as the fighters were leaving the weigh-ins, causing it to fall several feet before again coming to a stop.
The UFC released a statement saying they are working with the hotel to determine what happened. The incident has since been labelled as the ‘Hellevator.’ This was just the start of the bizarre sequence of events before, during and after UFC 203.
