Peter Lennon, CPCU, partnering with Arbella Insurance Company’s charitable arm, presented over $10,000 of contributions to local charities who gathered at Lennon Insurance recently. Donation checks were presented to Karen Rice, Development & Operations Manager for Social Capital Inc. (SCI) and David Crowley, SCI President, as well as Joe Crowley, President of the Woburn Historical Society, Ed Doherty EVP of Stoneham Bank & Treasurer of the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn and Dean Solomon, Executive Director of the Woburn Council of Social Concern.

The donation to SCI is designated for the emergency fuel assistance fund that SCI recently raised in collaboration with other groups to fill a gap that had left numerous local families without heating oil during the cold winter months. Thanks to the generous community response, including this recent donation from Lennon Insurance and Arbella Insurance, SCI has been able to help four local families stay warm this winter. In addition, a community emergency assistance committee has been established with organizations such as the Woburn Council of Social Concern as well as SCI and numerous community volunteers.

“We started this emergency fund simply responding to one person in need,” observed David Crowley. “Thanks to the generous outpouring of community support from people like Peter Lennon and companies like Lennon Insurance and Arbella Insurance, we now have the capacity to address this issue moving forward.”
