Schwinn is excited to announce the 2016 Schwinn Ambassadors. Each Ambassador was hand selected to represent Schwinn through their unique bicycle journey! Some Ambassadors will be taking you on a 365 day adventure, while others will show you how their bicycle is an extension of their life and personal style. With a common goal, Schwinn, along with each of our 2016 Ambassadors realize the joy, sense of freedom, and health benefits that go along with riding a bicycle.

Without further adieu, meet the Schwinn Ambassadors!

Brittany, Allen, and Scout Tran

Our Tiny Unit, as we often refer to ourselves consists of Papa (Allen), Mama (Brittany), and our little girl, Adventure Scout. Like any unit or team, we love to do things together whether it’s an adventure in the mountains, scrambling in the desert, or riding our bikes at the beach! Just like any 3 yr old, she’s always trying to grow up faster and has been pleading with us to ride around the neighborhood without our help. You see, bicycling to our family is part exercise, part adventure discovering new pockets of our neighborhood. Giving her the ability to travel, and explore on her own would truly empower her.

Papa Allen loves to explore the mountains, deserts, and forests in search for new heights. He’s always looking new challenges to surmount in his climbing initiatives. While he’s not on an adventure, he enjoys a long road trip and viewing the glories of nature.

Mama Scout loves to travel the world. Her passport book is thicker than most families having lived all over the US, Asia, and Australia. She has plans this summer to visit Europe and Latin America. She’s never one to back down from an adventure, and is always seeking paths untraveled.

Adventure Scout is no different than her parents. Her imagination creates a new adventure daily in her house as if each nook and cranny are a new, unexplored world. She especially loves road trips and patiently endures long drives, since she knows whatever that long road takes her, it’ll be worthy of a new adventure.

Christina Griffins

“Hi! I am Christina & we are the Griffins! My husband and I have two little girls and three furry little boys – all whom we call the loves of our lives. My husband spent the last four years in the Marine Corps and with the job that he had he was gone for a lot of that time. Recently, he came home for good & we have promised each other to explore more often, keep the TV off a little longer, and to just be present in the moment with our girls. With him being gone a lot, we have a better understanding of how precious our time together really is & so being chosen as Schwinn ambassadors was such exciting news for us!

Riding bikes is one of our favorite things to do – I adore that it is something that we can do as a family, in the fresh air & warm sunshine. Our daughters are 2 and 8 months old and just about that age where we can pull them in a bike trailer or walk along side Adalae on her tricycle. Being in Texas, where the weather is perfect all year round ;), I cannot wait to capture some our happiest moments on our bikes to share with you all!”

Bryan Martinez

My name is Bryan Martinez and I’m a 24 year old who constantly seeks adventure. I enjoy reading a lot, listening to music, painting, taking photos (instagram is lyfe), devouring pizza, exploring new places, and meeting up with friends for a chill time. I’m an LA native who moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2011 to study at UC Berkeley. Though I decided to stick around the area after graduation I often cruise down the coast to visit my family and friends who still reside in my beloved sunny Southern California.

As a Schwinn Ambassador I’m making it my ambition to explore life as a fully committed bicyclist in the urban setting. I’m leaving behind the luxury of driving my car and riding public transportation, to rely entirely on my bicycle to take me wherever I need to go. Rain or shine, I’ll be pedaling my way to every destination and will share my experiences along the journey.

Muriel Silva

I am professional photographer living in Annapolis with my husband Daniel, my son Max and our golden retriever Lucy. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, going to the beach, camping, riding our bikes on trails, and just having fun together. Our son has been riding a training bike and we think he’s at the right age to transition to a “big boy” bike, so he’s trying out the Schwinn Aerostar bike.

We are also moving soon to Florida, so we will spend sometime exploring our new hometown on our bikes. And of course, I’ll bring my camera along to document our adventures!

Rob McLewee

My name is Rob, and my wife/ partner in crime is Robin.  We’ve been together for a little over three decades, and married 27 years. We have a daughter and son, both in their 20’s and we have one grandson who will have his first birthday in July.  I have many interests and hobbies, including all forms of mechanized transportation.  I’m a tinkerer who has been riding, maintaining and rehabilitating bicycles since around 8 years old.

This year, 2016, will be our 5th year of biking adventures around our home state of Maryland, and into Pennsylvania and Delaware.  Maryland has the nickname of “America in Miniature” and we experience the whole state from the rail trails of the Allegheny Mountains out west, to our neighborhoods in the Northeast, to the Atlantic beach resorts.

Erika Frances

“Hi, my name is Erika!  My greatest inspirations, joys and blessings are found at home– my husband, three crazy kids and two little pups.  My second love is photography.  It is my passion and my job.  I photograph itty bitty babies and am obsessed with it.  I live, work and play in the burbs of Minneapolis, MN.  While I was born and raised here, we just recently moved back after spending the last 11 years down in Houston, TX.  When I am not kid-wrangling or taking pictures (or doing both at the same time), you can find me cooking, trying to decorate my house, planning a trip, or curled up in a blanket binge watching a TV series with my husband.”

Lindsey Casella

Lindsey’s originally from a small-town in central New Jersey, that’s better known for having the world’s largest roller-coaster than anything else. Having grown up in the suburbs, Lindsey recalls biking with her family as one of her favorite hobbies. Today, she is currently living out her big city dreams in Philadelphia and continues to bike! The city of brotherly love is the number one big city for commuting by bicycle in a nation. Thus, it’s no surprise why she uses her Schwinn for practicality purposes, including carrying out many of her errands with a bike that is well equipped with basket.

When not picking up groceries at Reading terminal market, interning in the city, or hitting the books at Temple University – Lindsey can be found exploring the city. With Philly having more than 435 miles of bike lanes, it is easy for Lindsey to get around the city’s vibrant neighborhoods. Through this program, she looks forward to sharing some of her adventures that she has thanks to her Schwinn. Happy riding!
