2015 was a big year not only for Schomp Honda, but also for our partners, whose work has fostered a positive impact within our community.  Fifty-two weeks were filled with outreach and events which showcased, among many things, the pride we take in our ability to work with such beneficial organizations.

For nearly 25 years, Schomp Honda has worked hand-in-hand with The Children’s Hospital Colorado to fund programs for those in need.  This year, $25,000 was donated to the hospital’s burn camp, a remarkable program which improves the lives of burn-injured children through the use of enriched curriculum and path of adventure in a safe environment.

“Children’s Colorado is so honored to be a partner of Ralph Schomp Automotive for many years,” said Kendall Cordova, senior manager, corporate giving at Children’s Hospital Colorado.  “This year, Ralph Schomp donated $25,000 to the Children’s Hospital Colorado Burn Camp.  This camp helps kids like Blake, who was riding his motorcycle with his Dad when he encountered loose sand.  His bike slid out from under him, pulling his right leg under the wheel.  The muffler melted his shin guard and his posterior calf leading to two surgeries for skin grafting.  After attending the burn camps program, Blake has flourished and gained the confidence to speak openly about his scars.  We thank Ralph Schomp and the community for their ongoing support of kids and families.”

On the subject of family, keeping everyone together, including canines and felines, is no easy task.  Thankfully, organizations such as the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley (HSSPV) exist to keep our furry friends safe and sound.  To ensure their mobility, Schomp Automotive donated the “Pup Truck” this past year, fully outfitted to foster loads of adoptions at various events.

“We had a great year working with Schomp Honda saving pets and bringing families and our community together – we make a great team,” said Leslie Maisonneuve, facilities coordinator for HSSPV.  “We’re looking forward to getting the ‘Pup Truck” out into the community in 2016 and bringing more pets and people together.  Thank you, Schomp Honda, for your amazing kindness to the animals!”

The Emily Griffith School of Opportunity was founded nearly 100 years ago and, since its inception, has assisted more than 1.6 million students.  Living by Ms. Griffith’s original motto, “For all who wish to learn,” they welcome all people regardless of age, race or education level, who wish to expand their horizons and chart their own course for success.

Alby Segal, president of the Emily Griffith Technical College, said, “The partnership with Schomp has enabled (the) Emily Griffith Foundation to reach out to thousands of alumni who otherwise would be disengaged.”

Near and dear to our own community, the Littleton Public Schools (LPS) Foundation brings together parents, businesspeople, educators, and community leaders into a single, unified community of support for their school system.  Fostering a years-long involvement with the LPS, Schomp Automotive has been able to give back to not just our community, but also our children and future leaders.

“The LPS Foundation has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Schomp Automotive, and we are extremely grateful for their generous support for Littleton Public Schools,” said Beth Best, executive director of the LPS Foundation.  “Their involvement and assistance has made a considerable impact in all of our schools.  Thank you, Schomp Automotive!”

The Northwest Douglas County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is an organization focused on infrastructure improvements, public policy, and marketing of our region as a premier place to locate or expand a business.  Remaining a part of our community network through the Northwest Douglas County EDC has been a top priority for the Schomp Automotive Group.

“Schomp Automotive is a fantastic community partner,” said Amy Sherman, founder of the Northwest Douglas County EDC.  “While running a successful auto dealership, they still find time to invest in our community through countless philanthropic efforts and participating in community events.  Schomp is truly a part of our community network!"
