Invite to the Launch of a New Security Company for Scarborough / Misty Cliffs

We cordially invite our fellow Villagers to join us next weekend, Sat 26 Nov 2016, between 11:00 and 14:00, for a boerie roll or Veggie burger and some refreshments at the Camel Rock Restaurant where we will be launching a new Security Company to serve Scarborough and Misty Cliffs.

As many of you will have noticed, crime has been on the increase for a long while now. Regrettably, this is largely due to the numerous challenges facing not only South Africa, but the Far South, especially of late.

For this reason, some passionate villagers have embarked on bringing a new security solution to our fine village of Scarborough, after numerous calls for a fresh solution.

One of the key reasons one resides in this beautiful, tranquil part of Africa, is to enjoy the freedom of leaving the caged world of the city behind. Together, we can keep that reality well into the future.

Come and meet us, and explore our various options available and sign up to help secure our village. Please see the attached Invitation.

Adopt a Hydrant

Have you got a fire hydrant outside your property?  Adopt it!   Make it yours – it may save your house or your life one day. Clear overgrown vegetation or sand away from it – make it easier for the Fire Unit volunteers to test it – one day, you may be really thankful that you did. Whilst you are there, please also clear the sand and plant growth from inside the housing. If it is leaking, then please report it via this email address. Thanks!

Beach and ocean safety

the numbers of kiters and windsurfers on scarbs beach and sea have increased enormously over a short time and most of them are behaving extremely dangerously by flying at speed through surfers and bathers      on the beach kites are launched upwind of beach-goers and even left inflated and  unattended on the beach all extremely dangerous actions if anything goes wrong  compounding  this is that scarborough beach is quite small   has a lot of beachgoers    the conditions are varied and extreme and many of the kiters are inexperienced       im concerned  and so are many others

Redhill craft & up-cycling and up skilling project

I’ve started a little initiative in Redhill due to many requests from Redhill settlement community members. Over the last few months I’ve trained a small group of interested people in craft skills, doll making and also bottle cutting and plastic up-cycling (turning trash into cash).

This lil project can really grow. As most of you know , In Redhill the rate of unemployment is high , the quality of life quite basic to dire yet there is now lack of willingness and community . This is an invitation to be part of this projects early development by sponsoring one person for a doll making workshop in DEC.

Each person will experience the joy of crafting in a group, learning a new skill and making a doll to keep for them selves or to gift to a child for Christmas! They will also make a second doll for their sponsor. It’s a win win !

If you would like to be a skills sponsor ( monetary donation )  or contribute your skills please contact me
