Gimme the Recipe is brought to by Sheila Kiely; mother, cook, baker, author, food-lover. With six kids in tow, Sheila creates and curates recipes on Gimme the Recipe that are easy to follow, simple to prepare, and are budget-friendly.

Sheila makes delicious sweets and healthy dinners, and shares some great kitchen insights that can only come from years of cooking experience. Gimme the Recipe also features a number of food product and restaurant reviews that will keep you hungry and eagerly anticipating your own visit to the supermarket or selected eatery.

Recipes, though! We’re here for recipes! So, without keeping you for much longer, I introduce Sheila’s Toasted Sesame, Honey & Mustard Chicken. It’s healthy, delicious, and a lot easier to prepare than you might think – like, a lot easier! – it only takes five ingredients. It’s a great staple for mid-week cooking or a quick, impromptu meal for when the kids invite a friend around (you know the one – the one that looks at your food as if it killed his or her family. Yeah, even they will dive into this dish).

So he sesame, he ses…

If you’re bored of the tired old french fries that wither to the point of weaponisation, or soggy enough to shift to soup with the touch of fork, then Sheila’s Polenta Chips with Cumin and Chilli is a great one to try. They’re simple, delicious, and considering how unique they are, surprisingly inexpensive to recreate at home. They’re great for large family cooking too as portions can be more easily divided by simply slicing them into divisible numbers – no more of those ‘that’s unfair, he/she has more than me’ arguments!

Simply delicious!

Gimme the Recipe is a great stop when considering what to make for dinner any night of the week. Sheila knows the difficulties and strains that come with cooking for large families (or large appetites) and creates her recipes to cater to such demands.

As Sheila herself notes, “These recipes are for everybody” – so get into the kitchen, get cooking, and get to eating some really great food!

Sheila’s book, Gimme the Recipe, is also available to purchase from Mercier Press here if you’re an old-school cook who loves cooking straight from the pages.
