If you have been reading my posts lately, you know that I am a fan of homemade and DIY gifts.  I love to get crafty for the holidays.  I’ve been making batches of Sweet and Savory Spiced Holiday Nuts and decorating pretty labels for my Cardamom Fig Chia Jam already this morning.  Buy, hey, sometimes we are short on time, and we just want to get something quick.

I thought since many of you are fellow foodies like myself, it would be fun to get a list together of my favorite gift ideas for the Food Lover in your life.  Having a well-stocked kitchen makes the time in my kitchen much easier and much more fun.

So, here goes.  And in case you are reading this, honey,  you know you can never go wrong with #2 when it comes to me.  (was that shameless or what?)

Healthy Gift Ideas for the Foodie in Your Life

#1 A dehydrator

Being able to make dehydrated fruit, fruit roll ups, and snacks is so helpful to a Real Food lover.  I make yogurt in mine.  I soak and dehydrate my nuts in mine. THIS is the one that I have.

#2 Anything Le Creuset

Hands down my favorite cookware.  It’s pricey but if you own anything from Le Creuset, you know that you get what you pay for.  I can’t say enough about the quality of this cookware.  The nicest part is that the enamel coated cast iron pots and pans are completely non-reactive and will not leach harmful chemicals into your foods.  I’m smitten with the enameled cast iron skillet.  I have a large dutch oven (I guess you would call it a French oven) for soups, stews, and for roasting chicken and meats.  My small one is for my go-to for simmering teas and sauces and for reheating food.  It also rocks for making rice and oatmeal. I recently also got the most adorable Le Creuset honey pot for my birthday. Plus, it’s all so amazingly beautiful.  My favorite colors are the Caribbean and the Soleil.

#3 Small Appliances

My little kitchen gadgets make life in the kitchen so much more fun.  The 3 most used small appliances in my kitchen are my food processor, my high speed blender, and my immersion blender, which came with an awesome mini food processor for smaller jobs.  Another favorite is my veggie spiralizer

that make veggie noodles out of just about anything.  Oh, and my ice cream maker brings a lot of joy to my family.

#4 Fermentation/Culture Starter Packs

Fermented food is the backbone to a healthy digestive system.  And REAL foodies love to culture and ferment.  Delicious Greek yogurt starters, kefir grains, and kombucha tea starters are fun gifts.  Or how about  fermentation crocks, supplies, and books?  THIS is my go-to place for all things fermented.

#5 Coconut, Coconut, Coconut

BPA and additive free coconut milk, shredded coconut, coconut flour, good quality coconut oil, and coconut butter are all staples in many REAL food kitchens.  Stock up for your favorite foodie so she/he can make you lots of delicious holiday desserts. THIS is my favorite place to get good quality coconut products.

#6 REAL Food Supplement Gift Basket

Fill a basket with things like top quality grass fed gelatin, magnesium powder , probiotics, and fermented cod liver oil. Maybe add some organic, gourmet spices and teas to the mix. How about a bottle of good quality, real olive oil?I am also loving my new, non-toxic natural deodorant.

#7 Small, Fun Things

It’s the small fun things that foodies love.  I got this bamboo utensil set for a friend of mine.  My french press gets a lot of use at our house during the cold winter months as we love to make ginger tea in it.  How about a fancy cheese board?  Or cute measuring spoons?  Or what about this mint green retro kitchen timer? This retro kitchen wall clock is actually on my wish list.  Did you know that they made a hand held veggie spiralizer?

#8 Eco Kitchen Things

Who doesn’t love a green kitchen? I got this traveling glass tea infuser for my birthday last year, and I love it. These bamboo cutting boards are a great addition to any kitchen. Reusable produce bags make a great stocking stuffer. These stainless steel ECOlunchbox are great for on the go meals. And who wouldn’t love this stainless steel compost bin ?

#9 Exercise Gear

Let’s keep encouraging each other to stay fit.  A kettlebell is like having a whole entire gym in one small ball of iron. Wouldn’t your favorite yogi love an eco-friendly yoga mat?  And how about a pull-up bar for that minimalist in you life?
