While reading Big Habitat’s quest to earn the companion pass without signing up for any credit cards, I took another look into Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program.
I knew from my previous homework that Southwest’s Rapid Rewards were kind of poor unless you redeemed for Southwest flights, and knew Hyatt gift checks were available for redeeming from Southwest’s Rapid Rewards.
There is a great deal happening right now with Southwest and Hyatt and a large number of great properties. You could redeem 10,000 points for a $100 gift check and it would reduce your room rate of $200.
There are a few rules like using code: HDC208 and calling Hyatt to reserve with a 2 night minimum stay. A max of two certificates can be used on stays of four or more consecutive nights. (The link will drop you off to Southwest and you would need to click into the mall, otherwise it’ll say the session timed out)

Can this be gamed?
After reading the terms and conditions, my interpretation appears not to be Southwest exclusive. However, on the Southwest site states if you order a $100 Hyatt gift check they will send you the additional $100 gift check. It is a bit contradictory between what Southwest has and what the terms and conditions state.
