This program is all jazz or jazz-influenced music. Hour one is straight up '50's and early '60's fare. Hour two is more of the same, however the featured artists were sidemen from both of Miles' classic quintets. One of them, the late bassist Paul Chambers (pictured in 1956) appears on five other tunes in that segment. Hour three is jazz-related rock and folk. Former Pentangle bassist Danny Thompson figures on two other tracks in that hour. Hour four is exclusively music from the ECM label with all four members of the group Oregon playing on separate tracks. Also, John Abercrombie, formerly the guitarist of Stark Reality and Dreams can be found performing with two Miles alumni from ca. 1969-'70 as Gateway. As always, enjoy!
