The Sault United Futbal Academy (SUFA) is launching a competitive training program to supplement it’s regular Grass Roots Skill Development and Futsal (gym five-a- side soccer) programs. The competitive program will kick off on October 1st with a FREE open training session for children ages seven to 17 and their parents at the NCC from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m.
The training session is open to children of all abilities from all clubs and programs. Children should show up early and be ready to play promptly at 10:00 am. Shin guards are required. There will be a short question and answer period for parents at the end of the session.
“We’re really pleased to be able to offer another pathway for young soccer players” said Bill Howe, Founder and Director of SUFA. “This isn’t a select or rep program. It’s a development program, meant to help kids learn the sport of soccer and this new competitive option will give them the opportunity to put those skills to work in a different environment.”
SUFA prides itself on providing a positive, inclusive environment where all children are welcome and accepted. “We want kids to have fun, work hard, learn the skills and develop a life-long love of the sport” said Howe. “Whether they want to play competitively, learn the basics or supplement their training with another club, we have an option for everyone.”
SUFA focuses on the development of individual players over team wins and has recently celebrated the astounding accomplishment of having five of its players invited to train in England with the English Premier League’s West Ham United Academy.
SUFA’s philosophy centres on an inclusive approach focused on skill development in a fun, safe and positive environment by professional, certified, and passionate coaches. For more information on all SUFA programs visit www.saultunitedfc.net.
Registration is open now and programs begin in October. For more information contact the Academy at sufasoccer@gmail.com.
