CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS—(Marketwired – October 24, 2016) – Twenty travel advisors from throughout the US participated in the second annual Nevis Travel Symposium of Romance, October 17 – 21, which was touted as a huge success by the Nevis Tourism Authority who organized the event.

Hosted by the Four Seasons Resort, the symposium included educational sessions by Keith Powell, business revivalist who works with travel professionals to help their businesses to stand out in a crowd, and Sandy Malone, DIY wedding specialist, columnist for BRIDE magazine and Huffington Post, and star of TLC's “Wedding Island.” Ms. Malone also hosts a twice weekly pod cast — Wedding Reality Check — on iTunes and iHeartRadio.

“We are delighted with the success of the 2016 Nevis Travel Symposium of Romance,” said Greg Phillip, CEO, Nevis Tourism Authority. “Many have said that Nevis is the most romantic island in all of the Caribbean and this is our way of ensuring that we share this fact with the world of travel. Travelers seeking romantic destinations and wedding locales are beginning to discover the ease of arriving on Nevis to enjoy the romantic seclusion and quality of Nevis as a destination. Our partnership with this new group of Nevis Romance Specialists will only serve to grow our numbers of visitor arrivals.”

In addition to the informational sessions, agents were treated to a Romance Expo, bringing together all of the planners, florists, musicians, culinary experts and representatives from throughout Nevis' wedding sector who presented everything needed to plan and execute a memorable and beautiful destination wedding and honeymoon in Nevis. A mock wedding was also presented to showcase all of the island's romantic best.

An island tour, delicious meals at Four Seasons Beach Cabana, Sunshine's Beach Bar & Grill, and Restaurant 750 at Montpelier Plantation, site visits to boutique resorts and villas, and a visit to St. Thomas Church — the oldest church in the Caribbean built in 1643 and still functioning for church services and weddings — rounded out the visit to rave reviews.

“I wish my husband could meet me in this amazing paradise! There has not been a bad view, bad meal or anything negative to be said about Nevis. With seriously friendly people and a foodie's dream, I honestly think I found a new favorite destination. I can't wait to begin selling this,” said Monique Brigham of Plumeria Breezes Travel in Sedro–Woolley, WA.

After participating in the program, the travel advisors were certified as Nevis Romance Specialists and left motivated, educated and ready to sell romantic travel to Nevis. They join the other 20 agents who were certified in 2015.
