This summer, Ritz-Carlton Montreal offers guests an insider experience of the city’s arts and culture scene with an exhibition by renowned local artist, Danielle R O Y.

“It is with great pleasure that the Ritz–Carlton Montreal presents the works of Danielle R O Y; painter, designer, artistic director and stage director,” says Andrew Torriani, CEO and General Manager of the Ritz–Carlton Montreal. “We invite you to discover these works that reflect the talent and passion of the artist.”

R O Y found her inspiration for the collection during a long stay in Paris, where she was drawn to people living on the streets. She creates powerful imagery of urban portraits by uniting people from all walks of life with beautiful flowers, establishing a poetic and dream–like universe in her work.

R O Y is no stranger to the Montreal arts scene, having served as Artistic Director of the street arts portion of the Just for Laughs festival from 2007 to 2013. Her focus on visual arts, multimedia exhibitions and animation has inspired her to focus on popularizing art in all forms, making it accessible to the general public.

«Une fleur = un être humain» officially opened at Ritz–Carlton Montreal on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, with an exclusive, invitation–only event for members of the Montreal arts community and members of the media, from 5.30pm to 8.00pm. Several exclusive items will be on sale at the hotel until September, including a quilt, pillows and souvenir books, with prices starting from $95.00. Artwork will be available for sale on request.
