BBC World News has extended its global distribution agreement with satellite operator Intelsat.

The broadcaster will utilize both Intelsat’s video neighbourhoods and the IntelsatOne terrestrial network for distribution primarily in in the Americas and Asia.

“Information is critical to any community and by leveraging Intelsat’s globalized network, we’re able to reliably deliver high-quality content that keeps millions of viewers up to date on the latest events happening around the world,” said Karen Schmidt, Intelsat’s Vice President of Marketing.

Four of Intelsat’s premier video neighbourhoods will be deployed. Galaxy 13 (127 degrees West), Intelsat 19 (166 degrees East), Intelsat 20 (68.5 degrees East) and Intelsat 21 (302 degrees East).
