I am by no means trying to equate myself with an expert but I am so very gratified that someone else sees "gradations" of Dark, even in humans (suspected demonic heritage). If I had to compare it to something it would be Van Gogh's "Starry Night", in which the sky is not static black but these subtle wild gradations of color. I have known someone who had that kind of energy and they were constantly being regarded as "frightening" or "evil" though they're about as frightening as a baby bird. Because people can be stupid.

--THE BLACK SLUDGE ENERGY!!! Holy crap. Yes. Scary stuff that is. Doesn't even begin to describe it. And thank you because I now know that I'm not (at least completely! LOL) insane. And IME has little or nothing to do with demons, per se. Some of the most "infected" people I've encountered are garden variety humans.

Excellent observations and what a confirmation, hanabushi! I am really impressed that you had seen these gradations, and your comparison is excellent. I am impressed that you are finding this a confirmation of what you had already been sensing and experiencing. Akelta was my first introduction to black energies and differentiating from that and sludge energies. It took some training and observation on my part to incorporate this knowledge into my practice. I had several experiences with Satan and some of his Sons last fall where I was able to first see this for myself - one time, Lord Satan let me see through his eyes, and see the colors in the black. It was amazing.
You also bring up the black energies that some people have and their possible demonic heritage. Excellent point and something Akelta has had an understanding of for quite some time. Akelta does energy readings where she can determine if a person has the black energy in their essence. It's rare, but definitely links those who have it with the demonic realms. Akelta and I both have it

Thanks for your comment, Huffette. Yes the sludge energy beings are horrendous. Many are also tricksters and energy feeders. Often times they can be mistaken for DA beings and we have actually seen beings with sludge energy being bound by conjurers and sold as other entities. It is helpful to be able to distinguish between these energies for our own spiritual safety and protection. Definitely it is easy to see how sludge-entity attacks can be something that causes a person to fear DA/BA. There are sludge-beings that are often categorized as 'demon' in the demonized meaning of the word, often when someone is having a spiritual attack by one of these, it is assumed to be a demon which gives demons a bad name! It can leave a lifelong impression and turn a person away from work with a true and powerful DA being such as the demons we work with. This is unfortunate but it is part of what we are dealing with now after years of misinterpretation, religious programming and misconceptions about demons.

Good question. It depends on the person, the demon, and the situation. People with black energy are able to handle it easily. Some times a person without the black energy who is drawn to the darkness gets mired in sludge and doesn't realize it is sludge-type darkness and energy they are dealing with rather than the pure stuff.
Black energy is powerful and destructive and must be handled with care. And yet it seems it has its own failsafes as it is not easy to access it, but if you are doing this kind of work it is important to have a great deal of discernment and protection. However to answer your question, working with your DC on revenge would not transform your energies other than perhaps potentially enhancing what is already there. If you have a great inner darkness and a lack of emotional balance, this is not a good combination for this kind of work. BUT, humans will not lose themselves to the darkness when exposed to black energy, it is the sludge that is the corrosive danger to be aware of when doing DA work.
