Laser Hair Removal

EXPERT

Veronica Denwick, Registered Nurse @ Laser Hair Removal at the Bay and on Unley

COST

Our treatments are charged in five minute increments. We believe this method to be much more reasonable as opposed to a set price per area. It means your treatment charges will reduce as your hair does.

FIRST THINGS FIRST…

The consultation process is very important. You’ll receive 30 minutes with one of our nurses, who’ll assess your suitability for laser to ensure safe treatments can be delivered.

BEST SUITED

Ideally brown or black hairs are the best candidates for laser hair removal. The treatment is not effective on blonde, red or grey hairs.

THE LOWDOWN

At Laser Hair Removal at the Bay and on Unley we use the Lightsheer Diode lasers. In a class of its own, with superior effectiveness and safety, the technology has fast become the industry’s ‘Gold Standard’. The light emitted by the diode laser is absorbed by the pigment in the hair shaft, right down to the hair follicle, resulting in greater depth of penetration and significantly faster treatment. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, long enough to destroy the follicle of the hair. The hair instantly vaporises and the client is left hair free!

HOW OFTEN?

Generally, the first 2 to 3 treatments are four weeks apart, then clients visit every six weeks followed by every eight weeks and so on. Our goal is to push out appointment interval times all whilst the length of individual treatments reduce, meaning clients are simply maintaining. There will always be ongoing maintenance for new hair growth, this may be once or twice a year.

THE RESULTS

After the first treatment a client should notice a reduction in hair growth, this will continue after every treatment.

IS IT PERMANENT?

Permanent reduction yes, but not permanent removal. Your body will continue to produce new hairs regardless of how much laser hair removal one has. Hormones, medications and even age may affect how much new growth a client may experience.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

The hair removal industry is not regulated in South Australia, which can result in unsafe practice. We often have clients attend our clinic that have had unfortunate experiences in the past. There can be severe consequences if non-medical personnel were to use class 4 medical lasers without the appropriate training. The most important piece of advice we offer is to ensure you attend a reputable clinic that have adequately trained staff.

DISCOMFORT LEVEL

2-4/10 Everyone is different with some clients experiencing minor discomfort. Although, we have never had anyone say they cannot tolerate the treatment. Some areas are more sensitive than others, for example upper lip and bikini line.

WHY CHOOSE US?

We are a highly reputable and professional clinic where all staff are medically trained, not aesthetically trained. We only employ nurses who have had three months of extensive training in operating class 4
