SAP offers customers free software and online courses to make it easier to access knowledge and new solutions. Here is a selection of what’s available.
1. SAP HANA, Express Edition
The slimmed down version of SAP HANA enables companies to get started with the world of in-memory computing with the help of SAP technology. While the express edition does not contain all the functionalities of the SAP HANA platform, it can be immediately deployed on PCs and laptops free of charge provided that the application can handle up to 32 gigabytes of memory.

2. SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer
The cloud-based CRM software SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer provides a uniform, real-time view of customers, plans, and forecasts. SAP Digital CRM has the required functionalities that smaller teams need for their sales, service, and marketing. It can be used free of charge for 30 days. Each user will be charged U.S. $23 at the end of the test phase.

3. SAP Business ByDesign
The cloud-based ERP system SAP Business By-Design enables small and midsized businesses, as well as subsidiaries of corporations, to map the most important processes from human resources, sales, procurement, logistics, and finance, and includes the most important analysis and reporting functionalities.

4. SAP HANA Cloud Platform
Build your own apps on a platform, and enjoy the benefits of the SAP HANA in-memory platform. This is possible with the platform-as-a-service offer on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform. Available services include SAP BusinessObjects Cloud for the analysis of business data, and IoT services.

A free SAP HANA Cloud platform online course as an extension of SAP S/4HANA was launched on January 11, 2017.
5. SAP S/4HANA Cloud
The company’s latest business suite, SAP S/4HANA, not only maps all business processes, but is based entirely on SAP HANA. For the cloud version of SAP S/4HANA, you can test predefined scenarios, and assume particular roles, including project manager, marketing expert, accountant, or procurer.

6. SAP S/4HANA
The on-premise version of SAP S/4HANA is available for 30 days free of charge. Digitalized core processes from ordering to payment can be mapped, and made transparent on the new SAP user interface, SAP Fiori.

7. SAP BusinessObjects BI, Edge Edition
Extract information from unstructured text, and convert it into a structured format, analyze competition and market trends, keep an eye on daily sales, and monitor business activities. The new functions of the BI tool, SAP BusinessObjects BI, Edge Edition, are also included in the software test version. Customers can use a key code to fully install the product, and use it for 30 days free of charge.

8. SAP BW/4HANA
SAP BW/4HANA, as developed on the SAP HANA platform, is a successor to SAP BW 7.5, and promises a simplified data structure and integration of non-SAP data. These new functionalities can be tested for 30 days free of charge.

9. SAP Crystal Reports
The BI reporting tool SAP Crystal Reports enables users to create (interactive) reports practically at the touch of a button, the data for which derives from various sources. Users can test a corresponding software version for 30 days free of charge.
