As a Product Manager within the Product Group, you will take a leadership role in the
innovation and development of the ActuateOne platform.
Our vision is to build on and continue the rapid growth of ActuateOne and BIRT in the market place – particularly as we look at multi-channel delivery of content, including mobile, cloud based deployments, and combining Big Data with traditional Enterprise data sources.
As part of a small, inbound and technical Product Management team, this position offers the opportunity
to have a real impact on product direction within a leading business intelligence vendor and to help drive the evolution of the next generation of business intelligence.
Work is diverse and dynamic and will require a self-starter with experience working with prospects, customers, engineering, marketing, sales and support. You will be responsible for planning and product management associated with specific products.
Activities include strategic planning; research and analysis of customer requirements; competitive analysis; development of business cases; requirements definition; participating in product development using an Agile development model; regular field and customer communications such as product roadmap updates and sales support; sales training; enhancement request management; documentation review; writing of white papers and presentations, and working closely with the outbound Product Marketing team.
A solid technical foundation combined with strong business perspective will be ideal for this role. You will be expected to work with a big-picture perspective, as well as being able to focus and deliver on the details.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 2+ years of Product Management experience with enterprise level software products, ideally in the business intelligence, mobile and/or cloud environments. In addition, 5+ years of broader enterprise software experience in customer facing environments.
Location and Management
The position will be based in San Mateo, California and report into Product Management within the Products organization.

Qualifications:
Degree in computer science (BS or MS)
MBA or equivalent business experience
Team player who is able to effectively build consensus through well articulated and researched strategy, business plans and justification
Self-starter with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Ability to handle a diverse number of concurrent activities
Strong organizational and procedural skills
Relevant knowledge of underlying or related technology is required. The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following additional qualifications:
Knowledge of the business intelligence market and products
Knowledge of mobile technology and application development
Knowledge of database concepts including SQL, stored procedures, database design, big data
Familiarity with one or more of the major RDBMS or Big Data products/technologies
Knowledge of web technology including HTML5, AJAX, Web Services, Java Application Servers; web servers and related technology
Experience building and/or deploying products, applications and architectures within the Enterprise
