Medivation, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDVN – www.medivation.com) is a publically traded biopharmaceutical company located in San Francisco.  We are, currently seeking a qualified, highly motivated, experienced individual for the position of Senior Business Applications System Analyst.

Medivation is focused on the rapid development of novel small molecule drugs to treat serious diseases for which there are limited treatment options. Medivation’s goal is to transform the treatment of these diseases and offer hope to critically ill patients and their families. With the approval of Xtandi (enzalutamide) capsules in late August and the early September product launch immediately following, Medivation is in the process of building and developing a world-class workforce to take the company to the next strategic level.

As a member of the Information Systems team, the purpose of this role is to plan, design, configure, and deploy Enterprise business systems in support of core organizational functions and processes. The analyst must be able to provide both application support in a business analyst capacity as well as technical
support. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects and performing system administration functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities but are not limited to the following:

Collaborate in the planning, design, configuration, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications

Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems

Assess, provide options and recommendation to all levels of management

Experience with planning and leading projects in a GxP environment to meet business needs

Ability to work with and manage multiple vendors

Excellent business relationship and communication skills

Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support

Ability to execute protocols, perform testing sequences and change controls

Ability to identify and resolve application incidents and requests or refer to other IT groups when necessary

Maintain (patch), repair and manage new and existing systems

Provide day to day and scheduled application support; respond to application support issues from multiple business customers

Experience with administering SharePoint site collections that support efficient business process workflows; including configuring and supporting workflow functions

Continually strive to improve the efficiency and usability of our SharePoint solutions, leveraging ongoing research and understanding of business needs.

Establish and maintain end-user access policy and permissions. This may include delegating permissions authority to other users.

Design and develop portal content and applications that integrate with other enterprise systems and third party products.

Knowledge & Experience

Minimum 5 years experience providing technical application support and project management in a networked Windows environment

Minimum 2 years as an IT business analyst or system administrator role working with Enterprise Applications (Financial, Human Resources, Legal, Quality, Clinical)

Proven experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or 2010 administration.

Working technical knowledge of current messaging and collaboration systems software, protocols, and standards, including Microsoft SharePoint.

Knowledge of industry best practices for e-mail privacy and regulatory compliance, routing, filtering, monitoring, tiered storage, backup, and disaster recovery.

Strong working knowledge of patch management and change control practices.

Extensive support experience with IIS and .NET application architecture.

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database management.

Experience with Active Directory.

Experience with high-availability design (failover systems and data replication).

Previous exposure to server virtualization technologies.

Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, data privacy practices and laws including FDA 21 CFR Part 11, SOX and HIPAA.

Knowledge of Computer Systems validation.
