San Francisco’s manufacturing sector pumped $1 billion into the local economy and accounts for more than 4,000 jobs, a new study shows.
The nonprofit SFMade, a group established to promote San Francisco-based manufacturing, reported that its members drove more than $395 million in direct spending into the local economy and another $750 million in indirect economic activity.
SFMade membership has grown to over 500 companies, a 25 percent increase from last year.
