Waters Fine Foods & Catering and The Sporting Club Partner to Create a Unique Educational Culinary Experience Focused on Beauty Enhancing Foods

A match-up of top talents will unite the city’s premier luxury heath club and its finest caterer on Thursday, April 3 from 6-8:30pm at the Waters Fine Foods & Catering Kitchen in Bay Park to teach a timely approach to cooking up good looks.   Lindsey Mueller, The Sporting Club Nutritionist, will provide expert insight into the ways class participants can use key foods and nutritional tips to transform their “inner glow” to outer beauty.  Mueller will focus on types of foods that have anti-aging qualities and promote glowing skin, including salmon, organic vegetables, seeds and nuts.  The class will then move to the spacious kitchen, where the Waters team will teach students the art of cooking culinary triumphs that transform inner health to outer beauty.

Waters award-winning chefs will lead participants through the preparation of several delectable dishes ranging from entrees to desserts, that are based on “beauty” enhancing ingredients such as chia seeds, salmon and even chocolate.  Dishes include red bell pepper-avocado gazpacho and miso-glazed salmon. All the little tricks that professionals use to make food look and taste its best – while retaining full nutritional value – will be included in the lessons.  “Beauty food prep tips and demonstrations” may be novel ideas, but at Waters, what’s new is the norm.

The Sporting Club, the deluxe, all-around fitness center at the Golden Triangle’s Aventine complex regarded as the leading health club in San Diego, emphasizes healthy, athletic, nutrition-conscious lifestyles.  Nice to know such lifestyles encompass treats like chia seed pudding with extra-dark chocolate, coconut milk and Brazil nuts, which participants will find a snap to make at both Waters’ professional kitchen and home.

The cost of the class is $110 per person.  The class will be held at Waters Fine Foods & Catering located at 1105 West Morena, Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111 on Thursday, April 3 from 6-8:30pm.  Since space is limited, early registration is suggested.  Call 619-276-8803 to register.

The Sporting Club’s Weightman, a San Diego native adept at creating sustainable, individualized weight, fitness, health and stress-management plans for club members, says her core belief is that “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.”  The energetic and engaging nutritionist earned a business degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before attending the Natural Healing Institute of Naturopathy, one of the top three largest and most respected clinical nutrition programs in the United States.  Her specialties are Paleo nutrition, blood sugar regulation, food allergies/intolerances, and digestive health.

Long applauded as San Diego’s leading caterer and gourmet shop operator, Waters Fine Foods’ a team of accomplished chefs, beverage experts and pastry cooks is the envy of the industry.  From time to time, Waters offers cooking classes that truly are “experiences,” in that they tackle important culinary topics from all sides and are conducted by experts whose hands-on instructions make students confident of success at reproducing the dishes in their home kitchens.

About Waters Fine Foods & Catering

Waters Fine Catering was established in 1990 by chef and entrepreneur Mary Kay Waters.  Known for producing high quality, handcrafted foods made from the finest local, organic and sustainable ingredients, Waters Fine Catering quickly developed a reputation as one of San Diego’s top catering companies and has since been consistently named “Best Caterer” by local media.  Mary Kay went on to open Waters Fine Foods in San Diego’s Bay Park neighborhood in order to establish a closer connection with her clientele and to enable customers to enjoy wholesome, delicious food on a daily basis. The shop has also allowed for new recipe development and menu ideas and led to additional locations in Solana Beach at 125 South Highway 101 and Downtown at 555 West C Street.  The Waters Fine Foods locations offer fare to be enjoyed on the premises, at home, at the office, on a picnic or in any situation that calls for eating well, perfect for quick, tasty lunches, hors d’oeuvres, gourmet food platters, special holiday meals and ready-to-serve family dinners.
