San Diego Film Festival

Founded in 2001, The San Diego Film Festival is produced by the not-for-profit San Diego Film Foundation. Their mission is to support the best in independent filmmaking while enhancing the diverse cultural landscape and economic vitality of San Diego. The San Diego Film Festival’s 5-day independent film festival is held blocks from the San Diego Bay in the historic Gaslamp Quarter — San Diego’s premier downtown entertainment district and in the affluent seaside community of La Jolla. The Festival premieres more than 100 American and international features, short films and thought-provoking documentaries, while also providing intimate filmmaker and celebrity gatherings, along with top Hollywood industry panels. The Festival has earned more than 12 awards for Best Film Festival, including Top 25 Fests Worth Your Entry Fee by MovieMaker Magazine and was named one of the Top Ten Best Regional Film Festival’s in the country by Chris Gore’s The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide, as well as one of the Top Ten Best Vacation Film Festivals. In 2012 and 2013 we had our biggest National Coverage in respected film industry publications such as Variety, Hollywood Reporter, The LA Times, The Wrap and IndieWire. The Festival celebrate its 13th year September 24-28th.
