1. Nandi Hills

The Savandurga hills have an elevation of 1,200 metres and comprise of the Billigudda and Karigudda hills. The Billigudda hill is easier for trekking and is hence the more preferred trekking trail.

4. Ramanagara

The land of Gabbar Singh is covered in granite rocks and boulders. 5. Kanakpura

Located at a comfortable distance of about 60km from the main city of Bangalore, Kanakpura is perfect for that quick weekend getaway that you want to go to. With tall and beautiful mountains skirting the beautiful Hosadoddi Lake, it is a destination that is invigorating as well as richly endowed in landscapes that are perfect for an adventurous escape.

6. Kodachadri

Rising tall in the district of Shimoga, Kodachadri holds the honour of being amongst the tallest peaks in Karnataka. It is here that you can see incredibly beautiful views from the summit. 7. Kudremukh

8. Hogenakkal Waterfalls

Situated at a distance of 180 km, the Hogenakkal waterfalls are one of the most popular tourist places around Bangalore. The name of the waterfall is derived from the words Hoge which means smoke and kal which means rocks.

From a distance, it appears as there is smoke emanating out of the rocks. In reality, the force of the spray is so immense that the water looks like smoke and hence the name. Hogenakkal waterfalls are also sometimes referred to as the ‘Niagara of India’. This waterfall presents a beautiful sight and is the perfect place for those who want to spend some quiet time with nature.

11. ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna-Chandra Temple

One of the Seven Purposes of ISKCON listed by Srila Prabhupada is: To erect for the members, and for the society at large, a holy place of transcendental pastimes, dedicated to the personality of Krishna. 12. UB City

UB City is the biggest luxury commercial property project in Bangalore, India. Pioneered by the chairman of UB Group, Vijay Mallya, in Joint Venture with Prestige Group, it is built on 13 acres (53,000 m2) of land and hosts 1,000,000 sq ft (93,000 m2) of high-end commercial, retail and service apartment space. UB City has four towers namely, UB Tower (19 Floors), Comet (11 Floors), Canberra (17 Floors) and Concorde (19 Floors).

13. Art of Living International Center

The Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer-based, humanitarian and educational non-governmental organizations (NGO). It was founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The Art of Living Foundation spread in 152 countries and is considered the world’s largest volunteer-based NGO.

The Foundation is working in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. The International Association for Human Values is a partner NGO that Shankar founded, that focuses on the upliftment of human values at the grassroots level.

14.Dodda Ganapathi Temple

Dodda Basavana Gudi (the Nandhi Temple) is situated in Bull Temple Road, Basavanagudi, area of South Bangalore, part of the largest city of the Indian state of Karnataka. The Hindu temple is inside a park called Bugle Rock.

The bull referred to is a sacred Hindu demi-god, known as Nandi; Nandi is a close devotee and attendant of Shiva. Dodda Basavana Gudi is said to be the biggest temple to Nandi in the world. The stone cult image of Nandi is continually covered with new layers of butter, benne in the local language of Kannada. There is a cult image of the elephant-headed Hindu deity son of shiva Ganesha close by.

Every year on the last Monday and Tuesday of the Hindu month of Karthika Maasa a groundnut fair is held in the temple premises and groundnut is offered to the deity. This fair is known as ‘Kadalekaayi Parishe’ in local tongue. Groundnut sellers and devotees throng the place during Kadalekaayi Parishe.

Basavana Gudi is a regular place of visit for tourists and is covered by most of the tour operators including the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation.
