BeautyStat.com rounds up the best mascaras of the year that curled, volumized, lengthened and defined every lash – plus a 2015, 2016 preview. To recap the best mascaras of 2014, BeautyStat.com enlisted the help of some of the beauty industry’s most prestigious editors, writers and bloggers to help bring another year in makeup to a close.
Beauty mavens such as lifestyle expert Alexis Wolf from the BeautyBean.com, Bryce Gruber from TheLuxurySpot.com and Buzzfeed’s Augusta Falletta, made the hardest decision a beauty lover could ever do: choose one favorite mascara from this past year. While some kept loyal to tried-and-true formulas from well-known brands (Kevyn Aucoin and L’Oreal Paris), others embraced the new arrivals including ones from Gucci and Urban Decay.
Some beauty experts thought outside the box by including cult-favorite brands like Kjaer Weis’ Mascara and Australian brand Cherry Blooms’ Mascara Brush On Fiber Eyelash Extensions — the pick beauty blogger Felicia Walker Benson of ThisThatBeauty.com explained as her, “answer to everything.” “Not only does this genius little mascara create the instant effect of lush lash extensions, it also removes with just soap and water.”
Drugstore favorites reigned supreme with Bryce Gruber and PrettyConnected’s Lara Eurdolian. They voted for fan-favorite COVERGIRL mascaras by Lashblast. Even BeautyStat.com’s own editors added their picks, dishing on Josie Maran’s first mascara, Argan Black Oil Mascara, made with 100% argan oil and black mineral pigment to Japanese find FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen Mascara for its unique brush shape that grabs even the smallest lashes.
