I’m starting a brand new series here on SallyAkins.com today. And yes, as you may have already guessed, it’s about GIN!

Gin is still growing in popularity in the UK. I have to admit that before last year, I only associated it with a certain green bottle and shh…you know who. But after spending a very enjoyable evening at The Gin Vault, trying a range of gins on my holiday in Portugal, and reviewing the Gin Explorer box, I’ve become a bit of a fan.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen pictures of my gin shelf. Photos like this one:

It’s Gin o’clock! A new addition to my gin shelf this week, with flavours of Baobab fruit and Cape Gooseberries.

I’m gradually pulling together quite a nice collection of gins, and it’s great fun looking out for new gins, limited edition gins, different mixers…

So in ‘Gin on Friday’ I’m going to be taking a look at some of my favourite gins. I’ll be posting some cocktail recipes, as well as recipes for food that either includes gin or goes well with gin – like my Gin and Lime Drizzle Cake. And there will be other gin-related posts as well. I hope you’re going to enjoy reading this series as much as I’m going to enjoy researching and writing it!

This evening, I’m going to be celebrating with one of my current favourite gins – the Tanqueray Bloomsbury limited edition gin. I’ll serve it in a Spanish-style copa glass, with plenty of ice, Fever-Tree Light tonic water, and a slice of lime.

What’s your favourite gin? I’m always looking for new additions to my gin shelf!
