7 Days, 7 Posts is my weekly round up of some of the posts that I have enjoyed reading over the last week. They might be brand new posts, or older material that I’ve only just discovered. And they can be on any subject that I’ve found interesting, from blogging to beauty, travel to food.

I’m definitely in holiday countdown mode! The boys have finished school for the summer, and they’re enjoying their free time. Even though they’re both busy with friends and activities, there’s definitely a more relaxed feel about our busy lives. And now that we’re just a few weeks away from our summer holiday in Portugal, that is on my mind a lot right now.

You can probably tell that from this week’s selection of posts. There is a review of a gorgeous hotel, summer travel tips, and recipes for some very grown up summer treats!

So let’s kick off the week’s posts with this review of the very lovely Aphrodite’s Lodge in the Lake District, by Laura at What Laura Loves (@whatlauraloves). This hotel looks like the perfect place to spend a special weekend, I’ve definitely bookmarked it for future reference!

And if you’re going away on holiday soon, do check out these 21 Travel Hacks posted by Kacie at The Rare Welshbit (@TheRareWelshBit). Some are tips that you probably already know, but there are definitely some in there which are new to me!

Now, choosing a swimsuit is probably one of my least favourite parts of getting ready for a holiday. But once I’m there, I try not to waste too much time worrying about how I look in it.  In her note To the Woman who Shamed me about my Swimsuit, Tara at A Thought She Wrote (@tarakimwalks) pretty much sums up how I feel about it. But I’m still stunned that someone would actually write a message like the one Tara received!

OK, let’s take a look at this week’s recipes, and this week I’ve picked out two very grown up treats. These are definitely not for the kids! The first is a recipe for Pimms O’Clock Ice Lollies from Claire at The Foodie Quine (@foodiequine). As well as the Pimms, they’re packed full of strawberries and cucumber. So that makes them practically a health food, doesn’t it?

And the second recipe I’ve picked out this week is a very pretty Watermelon Margarita, posted by Jessica at Happily Hughes (@happilyhughes). There’s even a spicy option as well, if you like your drinks with an extra kick. It looks and sounds like something that you’d drink on holiday, doesn’t it? Mmmmm, holidays…

Next, a post from Angela at The Sunday Chapter (@sunday_chapter) about The Fear of Putting Yourself Out There. I think anyone who blogs, writes, or does any kind of creative job will probably recognise this particular fear. It’s something that I’ve been thinking and reading about recently. A quote from Jack Canfield in Angela’s post sums it up – “Everything you want is on the other side of fear”

And finally for this week, Nickie at Typecast (@nickieohara) has posted a review of Dreamday Pattern Journals. I absolutely love stationery and have to try and rein in my spending on notebooks and journals. I love reading Nickie’s blog because it saves me from spending more money on them!

Over the next four weeks, I’m be handing the ‘7 Days, 7 Posts’ reins to some of my favourite bloggers. They’ll be picking out their own selection of the best of blogging, and each of them have approached the challenge from a different angle. Next week, Nickie from Typecast will be taking over ‘7 Days, 7 Posts’ and picking her favourite blog posts. See you then!
