We round up the best of the Breast Cancer Awareness products for 2014

On Monday night I was lucky enough (with my friend Sally who we featured earlier in the week) to attend the launch event for The Estée Lauder Companies 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, hosted by Elizabeth Hurley. The breast cancer organisation BCRF*, founded by Evelyn Lauder, has so far raised over $500 million which funds leading researchers worldwide. At the launch we heard from one of the UK researchers based at the Royal Marsden Hospital that much of the research is currently targeted towards the personalisation of treatment to each individual’s particular cancer. Survival rates for breast cancer continue to improve, but the more researchers can learn about the different variants of breast cancer and how they affect individual women and men, the more effective the treatment will be.

In support of BCRF, The Estée Lauder Companies have released a number of limited edition products for October 2014.

Estée Lauder have released four products in the UK this year. The much-loved Advanced Night Repair serum (see Sali’s review here) comes in a 50ml size with a Pink Ribbon Keychain (£69, £10 donation to BCRF). There’s also a limited edition make-up bag with lip and nail collection (the Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Pink Collection, £28, £10 donation to BCRF), a pretty powder compact (the Evelyn Lauder Dream Compact, £75, £10 donation to BCRF) and a pin (the Evelyn Lauder Dream Pin, £10, £10 donation to BCRF).

Aveda have released a limited edition hand cream, Aveda Hand Relief with Shampure aroma (£21.50, £2 donation to BCRF). Bobbi Brown are donating £5 to BCRF from the sale of each of their Pretty Pink Ribbon Lip Gloss Collection (£30).  If you are a fan of Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne, they are donating £20 to BCRF from every sale of Red Roses Cologne 100ml (£82).

There are also a number of other companies who are supporting breast cancer charities this month.

Avon are supporting Breakthrough Breast cancer with sales of their Avon Ultra Glazewear Lip Gloss in Pink Watermelon (£3.50, £1 donation).

Wild at Heart are donating 20% of sales of the Pink Passion bouquet (£75) to Breast Cancer Care.

Asda have raised over £40 million through their Tickled Pink campaign, which supports Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign. Various products in-store or bought online will generate a donation.

BareMinerals have produced a limited-edition lip gloss, Marvelous Moxie™Lipgloss in Survivor (£16, £5 donation to Look Good Feel Better).

SewLomax have created a limited edition ‘Pink Lipstick Pouch’ (£25). For every bag sold, £12.00 will go straight to the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

Finally, for information on how to check your breasts, have a look at Breast Cancer Care or Coppafeel (who have a reminder service).

*BCRF is an independent, not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder to fund the most promising breast cancer research worldwide. It’s mission: prevention and a cure within our lifetime. For more information about BCRF visit www.bcrfcure.org.
