Toyota South Africa and Toyota Financial Services South Africa (TFSSA) offer individuals from different communities across South Africa various learnership opportunities every year. These learnerships form part of the government’s National Skills Development Strategy to create skills and ease poverty and unemployment.

Toyota Financial Services South Africa (TFSSA) is a Registered Credit and Financial Services Provider that is part of a global network spanning 33 countries. TFSSA delivers end-to-end customer service across the South African Toyota Dealer Network and a full range of finance and insurance products for Toyota fleet customers, including full maintenance rental and leasing products and finance and insurance solutions for Hino customers.
Toyota Learnerships are open to those with the necessary qualification required for the learnership in question. All learnerships consist of both theoretical and practical training and are run according to Unit Standards set out by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Learnerships give individuals the opportunity to learn the required skills and gain the knowledge, acceptable behaviour and attitude that is required in the workplace. Learners will earn a monthly stipend for the duration of the learnership.
Toyota learnerships are offered in various disciplines and at various times of the year, so it is difficult to give the details of all the learnerships, but here are two examples of Toyota learnerships offered.
Toyota Financial Services SA Learnership
This is a Short Term Insurance Learnership for those seeking to gain experience in the Financial Services sector. Learners will be based in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Requirements
There are certain requirements for being accepted into this learnership:
Minimum Requirements
You must be a South African citizen in possession of a valid SA ID
You must have a valid certified copy of a Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum pass of 60% in English AND a minimum pass of 50% in Accounting or a minimum of 50% Mathematics OR a minimum of 60% in Maths Literacy.
You must provide a positive recommendation or official testimonial from a previous school, learning institution, or religious institution
You must not be permanently employed
You must be younger than 30 years of age as at 1 February 2014
You must have effective written and verbal English communication skills
Other Requirements
You must have a clear credit (ITC) and no criminal record
You must present a professional image
You must not currently be participating in a learnership
You must not be involved in any other studies between 1 Jan 2014 and 31 Dec 2014
Persons with a disability must provide a medical certificate confirming the nature of the disability.
A monthly allowance of R3 500 will be paid to the successful applicants for the duration of the learnership.

Toyota Mechatronics NQF Level 2 Learnership
This is a Learnership for those seeking to be trained in various technical disciplines. It is for a period of 8.5 months and successful learners will be awarded with a Mechatronics NQF Level 2 certification.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have minimum Educational Qualification in one of the following fields:
Mechanical Trades: NTC3 or Technical Matric with the following subject:
Maths & Engineering Science (Compulsory)
Engineering Drawing/ Graphic Design
And a trade related subject.
Electrical Trade: NTC3 or Technical Matric with the following subject:
Maths & Engineering Science (Compulsory)
Electro – Technology/ Industrial Electronics
And a trade related subject.
