Like me, you work long and hard to create amazing content for your blog, but unfortunately it can quickly become an expensive hobby. Wouldn’t it be nice to get paid to do what you love? Today is an exciting day because we are going to discuss how to get sponsored posts for your blog!
How to get sponsored posts for your blog:
you can pitch directly to brands,
be contacted directly by brands, and
join influencer networks that connect you to brands.
Pitching directly to brands can be intimidating, especially if you are a small blogger. Although I feel I have decent blog stats and social following, I have never pitched directly to brands because it scares me. If your blog is relatively new or has lower stats you aren’t likely to be contacted directly by big brands.
This is why, in my opinion, the best way to start getting sponsored posts is to join influencer networks. These networks are probably taking a huge cut, but it’s still a great way to start building your blog portfolio. This way when you pitch to bigger brands, you can show them all the brands that you’ve worked with in the past. From what I’ve experienced, there are two main ways that you can get sponsored posts through influencer networks:
1. The first way is that they will post opportunities on their website. You can choose to apply to any of the opportunities that fit your blog niche. An example of a network that functions this way is Social Fabric. They usually send emails when new opportunities are posted and you will have to pitch your idea as part of the application. The amount you will earn for each opportunity is listed, so regardless of high or low your blog stats are you can apply.
2. The second way is that the influencer network will email you with opportunities that you qualify for. Most of the time they will ask you to fill out an additional form for further qualifications. Examples of ad networks that do this are Collectively Inc and iConnect. These opportunities may have set prices or can be based on your influencer stats.

A Couple of Last Tips:
1. Applying and keeping track of all these ad networks can quickly get confusing. Here’s a helpful tip: keep a spread sheet of all the ad networks you apply to, so you can keep track of all your passwords and sponsored posts.
2. You’ve probably seen ad network badges on either the bottom or the sidebar of other blogs (I have a few you can see when you scroll all the way to the bottom of my blog). Pay attention to these, it’s a great way to see what ad networks are working for other bloggers. What are some of the ad networks that you have used and what was your experience?
Did I miss any? I would love to add more to the list.
