It was a weekend full of fun across Europe. Arsenal humbled their long nemesis-rival, Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates, Barcelona thrashed Sporting Gijon 5-0 without their talisman Lionel Messi; while in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Enugu Rangers are closer to breaking 32-year title drought following their 2-1 away win to Ikorodu United.   In case you missed the matches, here’s a review of what happened in the top five leagues. English Premier League (EPL)

Reigning champion visited the Red devils and it was a show of power and class as Jose Mourinho tactically outplayed Leicester scoring 4 goals with Gray scoring a consolation goal for the Foxes.

(Llorente – S. Aguero R. Sterling) The cracker of the weekend was the match at the emirate stadium. The Blues visited Arsenal hoping to continue their winning run but Arsenal outplayed Conte’s men to win 3-0.

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)

Rangers International FC are closer to lifting the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tile after 32 year of waiting. The Flying Antelopes defeated relegated Ikorodu United FC side 2- 1 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta in their match-day 37 on Sunday. Rangers only needed one point in their last game to emerge the new league champions.

The last time Rangers won the league was in 1984 (during Buhari’s reign as military Head of States). Rangers have superior goal difference ahead of closest rival, Rivers United who played goalless draw at home against Abia Warriors FC.
