. UEFA Europa League trophy
English giants Manchester United have been drawn against French side Saint Etienne in the last 32 fixtures of the UEFA Europa League (UEL) which took place in Nyon, Switzerland on Monday afternoon.
United’s Europa League adventure will continue with a round of 32 tie against St Etienne, a match up that Paul Pogba will relish as it sees him taking on his brother Florentina.
Tottenham will travel to face Belgium club KAA Gent having entered the competition following their third-placed finish in the Champions League group stage. The level of intrigue in United’s tie with St Etienne is heightened by the prospect of former Juventus midfielder Pogba facing his brother over two legs.
World’s most expensive player Paul Pogba is expected to face his older brother Florentin Pogba, who plays for the French side in that clash. The other English side Tottenham, who dropped down from the UEFA Champions League (UCL), will face Belgian opposition in Gent.
Among the other stand-out ties, Villarreal take on AS Roma, while Borussia Monchengladbach drop into the Europa League and face Italian club Fiorentina. 2009 UEFA Cup winners Shakhtar Donetsk, who were the leading scorers in the group stage with 21 goals and won all six of their games, face Celta Vigo in another game that will see one of the more stronger sides eliminated.
Meanwhile, first leg ties will take place on the 16th of February, 2017 with second leg fixtures slated for February 23, 2017.
