SAGINAW — Below are some of the upcoming events that will take place across the Diocese of Saginaw. Parishes are invited to include these events in their parish bulletins.

WHAT: Gathering of Catholic Singles Age 51 to 101
WHEN: After 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Nov. 29
WHERE: St. John Vianney Church, 6400 McCarty Rd., Saginaw
All are invited to a gathering after Mass for singles aged 51 to 101. The gathering is an opportunity to socialize and meet new people.

WHAT: Holy Hour with Bishop Cistone in Bay City
WHEN: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1
WHERE: St. Catherine of Siena Parish, St. Maria Goretti Church, 2872 N. Euclid Rd., Bay City
Since January 2012, the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, has traveled to different churches throughout the diocese to lead Holy Hours before the Blessed Sacrament. The faithful are invited to join him in praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we strive to do God’s will in our local Church.

WHAT: Relit: The Heart of Evangelization with Michael Dopp
WHEN: 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4 to Saturday, Dec. 5
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
This workshop, which is an integrated formational experience, is led by the founder of Mission of the Redeemer Ministries, Michael Dopp who will be presenting in person. His workshops aim to help participants advance evangelization through a person-to-person approach. Michael Dopp earned a Master of Divinity degree (MDiv) from St. Augustine’s at the University of Toronto, and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL) with a concentration on the new evangelization from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Michigan. Cost of the workshop is $75 for commuters (includes Saturday lunch) and $120 for lodgers (includes lodging and Saturday continental breakfast and lunch). WHAT: Jesse Manibusan Advent Concert
WHEN: 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6
WHERE: St. Agnes Church, 300 Johnson St., Freeland
Jesse Manibusan is a world famous singer songwriter and story teller. The concert is an event for the whole family. “Come laugh and sing while we discover this great time of preparing and waiting during the Advent season.” There is no charge for the concert.

WHAT: Advent Taizé Prayer Service
WHEN: 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7
WHERE: St. John Vianney Church, 6400 McCarty Rd., Saginaw
St. John Vianney Parish invites the community to experience Taizé prayer at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7. Taizé prayer is expressed through simple and peaceful meditative singing about the deep mysteries of faith. This prayer experience includes singers, piano and other beautiful instruments providing music by candlelight inside the church. In addition to music, there also will be opportunities for those present to sit in silent meditation as a way of entering deeply into the days of preparation for Christmas. A candlelight setting provides a spiritual atmosphere of peaceful and attentive waiting on the birth of Jesus. There is no charge to attend the Taizé and all are welcome.

WHAT: Novenas and Masses to Celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
WHEN: Friday, Dec. 4 to Saturday, Dec. 12
WHERE: Parishes Throughout the Diocese
Several parishes throughout the diocese will have special Masses and/or group novenas to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Schedules vary from parish to parish and are available here. The following parishes will take part: St. Joseph Parish, Saginaw; St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Saginaw; All Saints Parish, Bay City; Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, Bay City; Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, Saginaw; Nativity of the Lord Parish, Alma and St. John Paul II Parish, Carrollton. WHAT: Young Adult Dinner and Discipleship in Saginaw
When: 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17 and the third Thursday of each month
Where: Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd, Saginaw

WHAT: Pilgrimage to Chicago Area Basilicas, Shrines and More with Father Marcel Portelli
WHEN: Monday, Dec. 28 to Tuesday, Dec. 29
WHERE: Chicago Area
All are invited to join Father Marcel Portelli on a pilgrimage from Dec. 28 to 29 to the historic churches of Chicago. The pilgrimage includes nine spectacular locations such as Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica, St. John Cantius Church, Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, Mundelein Seminary, and Marytown National Shrine, all of which will be festively decorated for Christmas. There will be daily Mass and live sacred music recitals as well as ample time for downtown strolling and shopping. The bus departs from the Diocesan Center for Ministry, 5800 Weiss St., Saginaw. WHAT: Passion and Purpose for Marriage- St. Dominic Parish, Saginaw
