During the Nintendo Switch event, a JRPG game was teased known as Project Octopath Traveler. The intriguing part about this tease is that the creators are also the creators/team of another popular JRPG title known as Bravely Default. Although no more than a 43-second trailer was shown at the event, which can be seen below, yesterday the official Facebook page was opened which gives a little more detail, namely the producer in charge of the project. Tomoya Asano who many will know from his work with multiple other Square Enix titles such as Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV on the Nintendo DS as well as Bravely Default and Bravely Second.
While the project appears to be quite a distance off into the future I am quite excited as both Bravely Default and Bravely Second were top JRPG’s for me. Be sure to also check out a few screenshots below the video.
