Not quite sure who Adam Boyes is? We have one little video below to show you then you’ll know exactly who we’re referring to:

There you go, you should now know exactly who that person is. Adam was seen as an important cog when it came to pushing Indie gaming on the PlayStation platform because of his own game development background and ultimately ended up with the title as Sony Interactive Entertainment VP of Third Party Relations and Developer Technology Group. He was loved by his employers and PlayStation fans alike because of his ‘normal guy’ attitude, but will now be departing PlayStation to develop games again. Here’s what he had to say on Twitter:

After an incredible journey here at PlayStation, I've made the very hard decision to return to the world of game development!

The past 4+ years have been an absolutely amazing experience! I'd like to start out by thanking the incredible PlayStation Nation fans!

— Adam Boyes (@amboyes) July 8, 2016

Lots of thanks to throw out over the coming week as I wrap things up to head out on my new adventure… stay tuned!

He then took some time to reassure us all that the PlayStation brand is in very good hands:

The best news is that we have an incredible team here so the development & publishing community & gamers are in GREAT hands!

— Adam Boyes (@amboyes) July 8, 2016

He confirmed that he’d be working on a Indie title again:

@iamironwolf Nope, going to make games again on the independent side

— Adam Boyes (@amboyes) July 8, 2016

And had the class to thank his rivals:

@XboxP3 thanks Phil – should be a wild ride. Thanks for being a classy platform leader at XBox!

I think we can thank Adam for what he’s done for the Playstation brand since he’s been there. Indie developers have been put in the limelight because of him and we’ll never ever forget the day he joined Shuhei Yoshida to pull that ‘game sharing’ stunt right after the Microsoft conference. What a classic!
