It took long enough, but spring is finally here! As you gleefully glare out the window bidding the melting snow adieu, it's time to turn to the inside of your home and erase the final memories of frost and sludge. Safavieh is filled with lovely accessories to spark your imagination and feed your ideas. Here's how to quickly and easily accessorize your home so that it's ready for all the glory of springtime.

Start in the Living Room and Den

Since these are the areas the family likely spends much of their time enjoying, a fast spruce-up here will transform your home from winter cozy to spring chic in a jiffy. Begin with the throw blankets—those can go to the cleaners. Swap out the sofa cushions for ones with fun floral prints. Consider switching out the dark, heavy winter drapery for lighter, wispier curtains. If you'd like to re-command some floor space to make extra room, you can likely put away some floor lamps, since days will be longer and brighter. Some high-end area rugs in bright colors also endow the room with the glory and majesty of spring. Add a few flowers or blooming plants for extra cheer.

Move On to the Kitchen

You'd be amazed at how much changing the thick, dark table coverings to lighter, spring-themed ones brightens your mood. Put away the winter china and serving sets, and bring out your brightly colored, festive spring and summer serving sets. The curtains are likely to need a good cleaning, or consider swapping them for valances with festive prints like sunflowers, cherries, or tulips. As a centerpiece, cut flowers or a decorative decanter are wonderful alternatives to heavier winter centerpieces.

Follow Up in the Bedrooms and Bathrooms

In the bedrooms, it's time to remove the thick, warm comforters and put out lighter, breathable bedspreads. All of the home furnishing stores have lovely quilts and bedspreads embellished with spring touches like prints of greenery or soft pastel flowers. Swap out the throw pillows to match, and update the drapery. You can also clear off those heavy-laden coat racks and put them away for fall.

In the bathroom, change out the shower curtain, toilet seat cover, and bath mats for some in bright primary colors or soft, sweet pastels. Consider a few spring-themed decorations for the walls, like floral oil paintings or small hanging flower pots. Don't forget to change the family's heavy winter bath robes out for some cooler warm-weather versions.

Don't Forget Your Outdoor Sitting Areas

After the home is done inside, spend a few moments preparing your favorite outdoor hangout spots for some activity. Garden stools and decorations bring life back into the patio. Put out your outdoor furniture covers and make sure the grill is ready for the cooking season. Any outdoor furniture that was damaged or dirtied over the winter needs to be cleaned and repaired before use.

And, just like that, you and your home are ready for spring!
