2015-04-24

I can seriously hardly believe that the end of April is here and it’s time (almost past time!) to shop for Mother’s Day! I’m just about ready to declare 2015 as the fastest moving year ever.

Last December, I did a “12 Days of Etsy” series on my Facebook page, featuring 12 of my favorite Etsy shops. Ya’ll know I love to find new makers- vintage, upcycling, and handmade- and I especially love sharing their shops and pages for all to see! So in honor of moms everywhere, here are 12 fantastic shops offering fun, unique, and handmade gifts for Mother’s Day.

Evie’s Vintage Shop

What’s not to love about this Etsy shop offering absolutely gorgeous, one-of-a-kind jewelry made from broken vintage Pyrex?? And if ya’ll saw the latest Country Living Magazine, Pyrex is turning 100 years old and is completely all the rage right now.

SO colorful and sweet!

Everyday Eclectic

I met the makers behind Everyday Eclectic last year and have become a big fan of everything they make! But I am particularly fond of their line of infused honey…perfect for the tea-drinking mama. Aged balsamic infused honey? Hibiscus honey? How about honey, have mercy…??

For a sweet mama…

The High Fiber

Hand-printed tea towels and kitchen linens in fun colors and wonderful designs? Sign me up! That’s what The High Fiber has to offer…find the perfect towel (or, let’s face it, towels) for Mom’s personality! Let’s see here, honey bees? Vintage campers? Citrus slices? Decisions, decisions!

Function AND style!

That Old Blue House

Believe it or not, but this Etsy shop and I go way back…back before I even had my blog! I am a HUGE fan of her jewelry…and get more compliments on my vintage lace necklace than I can keep track of. And if lace isn’t mom’s thing, perhaps a necklace with a vintage marble pendant or vintage blue prints (!!) might capture her heart. OH. And for my blog readers…use the code “sadieship” for free shipping through Mother’s Day!

Like little lacy windows…

7 Ton Co.

Looking for a unique Mother’s Day card? Or perhaps you’ll fall in love with one of their leather-bound journals that are filled with salvaged paper? I bought a journal from them earlier this year to keep track of my ideas when I’m out and about…and the pages alone are inspiring! And Spring stationary and Mother’s Day cards just happen to be on sale right now.

Can’t find these in the greeting card aisle at the grocery store…

Goat & Kettle

If your mom is into funkier jewelry, then Goat & Kettle might be just what you’re looking for. As someone who just LOVES antique keys and door hardware, I am completely head over heels for this shop…skeleton (and other) keys turned into fantastical rings…key plates turned into superhero cuff bracelets…! Oh my, oh my, oh my.

Almost like Wonder Woman’s bracelets!

Chürp

I know, I know- I just spotlighted chürp not all that long ago. But with warmer months and our yards coming back to life, I just think one of Matt’s fantastic birdhouses would be the PERFECT mother’s day gift for the bird-watching mom.

Adding style to her yard…

Slab

A cutting board from a big box store is most DEFINITELY not like a cutting board from Slab. Especially when you can get a coordinating handcrafted muddler for mom’s favorite mojitos. So, which is your favorite- maple, black walnut, or cherry??

Almost too gorgeous to use!

The Book Crook

Books that sit on thrift store and antiques shop shelves often make me sad. I’m sad because they may never get adopted (i.e., purchased) and they’re often in pitiful shape. But I’ve found a kindred soul in Michele, the artisan behind The Book Crook because she collects these misfit books and makes fantastic cuffs from their salvaged spines! LOVE!

I might have to get ones of these for myself!

Hawks & Doves

When you go to craft shows, farmer’s markets, and road trips as often as I do, then sturdy tote bags are a must-have item in your closet and car. In fact, most gals I know- mothers or not- feel the same way…and I’m pretty sure everyone’s mom could use a one-of-a-kind tote bag from Hawks & Doves! Vintage feed sacks and military tents and salvaged blankets, oh my!

These are TOTES cool!

Whispering Willow

Handcrafted bath and body products…natural ingredients…minimal packaging…and a percentage of profits go to charity. I’m fairly certain that this might be the most conscientious way to pamper mom this Mother’s Day!

Pamper her this year!

In the Quiet Hours

I *just* discovered this shop and cannot tell you how much I love Sarah’s embroidered treasures! I’m pretty sure my mom will be gifted with an embroidered pendant necklace at some point, but picking a favorite will be very, very difficult! AND she’s offering a coupon code for my blog readers- use the code “handstitched15” to save 15% off your purchase through Mother’s Day!!

This one is mine!! But she has plenty more. :)

Happy shopping…and Happy Mother’s Day!! And, as always- Shop small, shop vintage!

Shine on,
