La La Land is the movie to beat, as the entertainment world prepares for the 70th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), set to be hosted by Stephen Fry at the Royal Albert Hall next month.
The film stole the limelight at the 74th Golden Globe Awards earlier this week, where it won in all seven of the categories that it was nominated for. The awards included Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Motion Picture-Musical or Comedy, along with the two lead acting awards in the same category.
The stage has now been set for another major night, after La La Land received 11 nominations in London on Tuesday. They include, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Film.
Arrival and Nocturnal Animals come in close behind with nine nominations each, followed by Manchester by the Sea with six.
