The new Moon on September 1 is an annular solar eclipse.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun's, blocking most of the Sun's light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring). An annular eclipse appears as a partial eclipse over a region of the Earth thousands of kilometres wide. The path of this eclipse is over central Africa. This is a very significant new Moon. It's a solar eclipse, but even more than that, it has very strong aspects that have some very interesting messages. For a start, Saturn squares this new Moon and Neptune opposes it. Both of these aspects become exact just hours after this eclipse. This is north node eclipse, meaning, amongst other things, that this is a time for forward action, forward thinking, discarding things from the past, etc. It may, though, be a little weird in that we may find it a bit of a distraction trying to figure out what is real and what is fantasy (or theater).
Of particular significance at this new Moon is Venus and Jupiter passing over the Super Galactic Center. This is major. We have Mercury coming right up to the SGC and then going retrograde, so, in about a month and a half's time, Mercury will traverse the SGC, cementing even more some of the ideals, dreams and visions we've been hatching at this new Moon.The Super Galactic Center has an orb from approx Virgo 28+ to Libra 5+ and the Sabian Symbols contained therein are extraordinarily apt for the theme that the SGC is said to represent. In a nutshell, the SGC is said to be where 'the Mind Of God resides'. The end of Virgo and those first 5-6 degrees of the zodiac are where we would look if we looked out towards the Super Galactic Center. It's a powerhouse part of the zodiac, not unlike the Galactic Center of late Sagittarius = both are said to be where we can truly connect in with the Law Of Attraction. Making plans, drawing them up, seeing what you can do, measuring three times before cutting, all these things and more can add to a successful period during the next few weeks.
Hence, this new Moon is seeding something very significant; a chance for us to connect with the mysteries and to project into our futures those outcomes we so desire. The new Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings and realisations. It's like a birth after a time of gestation or being 'in the womb'. Here, the light begins to return and we can see new beginnings and possibilities. A new Moon means that the Sun and the Moon are both together - bringing a synergy of their energies together. The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life.
So, even though this could be a rather gnarly eclipse with Saturn and Neptune turning the screws, this can be a rather wonderful time, and, this will extend into the next few months with Mercury following on after Jupiter and Venus, to concentrate on your affirmations. What is it that you really want? The SGC is a powerful point in the zodiac, and, to have Mercury, Venus and Jupiter meeting up here, brings a lot more power to this time.

The New Moon is on Virgo 10: TWO HEADS LOOKING OUT AND BEYOND THE SHADOWS - the following is the interpretation of this degree from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom -
Commentary: ‘Two Heads Looking Out and Beyond the Shadows’ is a Symbol of duality of thought and observation. This Symbol shows people looking at each other from a ‘Shadowy’, hidden perspective, as though they are checking each other out. The “Two Heads” can illustrate groups of people having different perspectives, or occupying different camps, ‘Looking Out’ and trying to understand, or investigate, what the “other” is doing.
Oracle: At the moment you may need to be able to see things from more than one side. While what’s happening may not be entirely visible or obvious, it is necessary to look beyond the ‘Shadows’ and into the light. If you feel stuck in a situation because the details of what’s really happening are not clear, try making some type of plan. Mapping out what alternatives there are and the outcomes of possible scenarios will be beneficial. The right plan of action can lead to light being shed and things being revealed. As there are ‘Two Heads’ pictured here, two people observing exactly the same thing can come to very different conclusions. There may be arguments, bickering and stalemates if they find it hard to agree with each other. Their observations can be quite different, but this can lead to interesting and useful solutions, especially if they take the time to listen to each other. The Karmic Degree for the new Moon is Virgo 9: A EXPRESSIONIST PAINTER MAKING A FUTURISTIC DRAWING - an excellent time to plan, to get something in the works, even if you're not quite ready to launch it, it can be brewing on the backburner, ready for take off when the energies are at your back.
This Symbol shows the talent or the need to make drawings or plans for the future, or for being able to see what’s coming up. Individuality and originality seem to be the uppermost requirements. Draw up your plans with an eye to what you want or what’s desirable. How do they look? Have you considered everything? It's interesting to note how Mercury sits on this degree for some days both before and after going retrograde. What are we meant to be 'learning', 'taking in', realising, understanding?

This is a fabulous degree, AND, we will have Jupiter traversing it for a few days in mid-September. What is changing for you?
This wonderful Symbol shows a time of new beginnings with an implementation of a brand new order. Often, this shows people being interested in attaining spiritual transformation and attainment. Saturn is on Sagittarius 11: IN THE LEFT SECTION OF AN ARCHAIC TEMPLE, A LAMP BURNS IN A CONTAINER SHAPED LIKE A HUMAN BODY - in amongst it all, there can be a call for the need to look after your physical being. We sometimes forget to pay attention to our physical bodies.
This Symbol implies seeing the body as being ones “Temple”; something to be honored and given respect, exercise and good nutrition. It also pictures linking the spirit and the body. Logic is not always involved in this equation – this mostly speaks of emotions, spirit and physicality. The Karmic Degree for Saturn is Sagittarius 10: A THEATRICAL REPRESENTATION OF A GOLDEN HAIRED GODDESS OF OPPORTUNITY - Saturn will again traverse this degree. In terms of politics, I often think of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump when I think of this placement. 'Goddesses Of Opportunity' ? Well, the Golden Haired works for both of them. What is it in your life that looks like a wonderful opportunity? It may be hard to see it clearly at the moment, what with Neptune and this new Moon eclipse squaring it, but, well, it is there. The trick is to distinguish between what is reality and what is merely 'theatre'.
Rewards, awards, acclaim, a sense of presence, charisma and beauty are all the promise of this degree. There will be offers that look too good to refuse, and they could be full of promise, but they should still be looked at carefully. It can be something of a reward for you, in which case it can lead to bigger and better things. You, or someone close to you, could be seen as someone who could totally succeed – a natural talent. This Symbol shows being able to proclaim one’s feelings, beliefs, love of country or political opinions, without feeling they are likely to be criticized, shot down or dismissed. Our highest ideals can be expressed proudly, like “A Flag” and as an expression of spiritual purity - “The Eagle” at “Dawn”. You may find that you are regularly moved to burst forth with your ideas, giving voice to what you think and feel. However, some may not like the message or what you have to say, how you say it or where you say it.
