Sabah security assets must be placed in suitable locations and need high security measures, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
He said the state government would study the matter thoroughly to strengthen the frontline teams in securing the state borders.
“As a responsible party, we the state government want the assets to be placed where they are most needed. I have said it and we will study it comprehensively.”
“I do not want to say which are the (suitable) locations, just that we know there is a need. Esscom (Eastern Sabah Security Command) is there, the curfew is there, and we know the location needs intensified security,” he said.
Shafie was speaking to reporters after presenting Hari Raya Aidilfitri cookies to the security forces at an event which was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau and Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Ramli Din here today.
Earlier, Mohd Shafie said in his speech that a review of Sabah’s defence system was needed and the state government would provide the input seriously and effectively, to boost the security of the state and country.
