idcloak launches a working proxy list to cater for restricted internet users seeking a way to unblock Facebook, YouTube or any other sites blocked on their connection.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) August 18, 2013

idcloak’s latest release caters for internet users whose connection forbids access to certain sites, especially Facebook. The Working Proxy List offers a live database of public proxy servers which can be reached through the published IP address and port number. Once connected, users will access the internet from a new connection point and be able to reach content normally unavailable to them.

Robin Welles, lead web researcher at idcloak, explains how the user can effectively choose from the list of proxies to unblock particular sites: “If it is YouTube you are looking to unblock, we recommend you select an HTTPS proxy with high-anonymity which is based in the US – this will bypass whatever obstacle is preventing you from accessing the site.

“But it requires a different kind of proxy to unblock Facebook – the site doesn't trust users coming in from IP addresses registered to new global locations. This means it throws up stringent security checks to anyone coming in from an anonymous proxy. We found, however, that a low anonymity HTTPS proxy still bypasses local blocks on the site but doesn't set off the security checks. After much testing, this is the nearest to an ideal solution we found.”

Many people require Facebook access on their mobile device, but unfortunately iPhone users face obstacles when configuring their devices to use IP proxies, “iPhones seem to inherently dislike HTTPS proxies and you are better ff subscribing to a VPN if you run an iOS device. If you are an Android user, you have more options – the best of which is Opera Mobile Classic. You can enter in the proxy data to the proxy settings in the opera:config menu as outlined in our Proxy List FAQs.”

One drawback of IP port proxies is that a user must have access to the browser’s settings in order to set up the proxy connection. This is not an option for many using shared computers, as administrative restrictions often prevent them from accessing the required menus. In these cases, Welles recommends the Web Surfing Proxy, which operates from the idcloak website.
