Maria Goyer, VP of Business Solutions at Populus Group, will be speaking at a roundtable session on ensuring proper classification of Independent Contractors (ICs). She will be discussing the top 10 best practices to mitigate the risks and financial implications of IC misclassification.
The use of Independent Contractors to provide various types of services continues to grow in most industries and as a result, the number of IC misclassifications has increased. Currently, Federal and State agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor are actively auditing industries to ensure they properly classify and engage with their ICs.
