CCD (Religious Education) classes for the upcoming school year will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 in the Holy Rosary School. New students registering for classes for the first time can pick up a Registration Packet in the vestibule of Holy Rosary Church on the weekend of Aug. 20 and 21 or by calling the rectory.

Any child in grades kindergarten to eighth, from Nativity Parish or with the permission of their pastor of another parish and not enrolled in a Catholic school, can enroll for religious education classes by completing the form and returning it to the rectory, by way of the collection basket or mailing it to Judy Lambert. All forms and fees are due on Sept. 11 with checks made payable to Nativity of Our Lord Parish.

All former students will receive a registration form in the mail by the beginning of September. If you do not receive one, contact the rectory.

Queen of the Apostles parishioners will make a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy, Stockbridge, Massachusetts, with the Oblates of St. Joseph Laity Association on Monday, Aug. 22 to celebrate the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy and the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. The bus leaves at 7 a.m. from the Oblates of St. Joseph, 1880 Highway 315, Pittston, and departs at 5 p.m. from the shrine. Effective Monday, Aug. 22, all weekday masses will be offered at 7:30 a.m. in the church.

All current altar servers, lectors, and Eucharistic Ministers are required to attend a training session. Altar servers are to attend a training session at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21. Lectors and EMS are to attend a training session at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14 or after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Aug. 20. All training sessions will last approximately 45 minutes. The sessions will provide the new liturgical guidelines. You will also complete a new contact information/preference sheet. All “new recruits” must attend one of these training sessions.

Father Petro will be officially installed as the new pastor during the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Aug. 14.
