Langcliffe Presbyterian Church is hosting its first-ever Easter Egg Hunt 5K for the community at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12. It’s a 3.1 mile run/walk around Avoca Borough where participants can collect Easter eggs along the course, then open the eggs at the end to see how much their finishing time gets reduced.
There will be prizes for different categories and a pasta lunch afterwards at noon that’s open to the public.
The goal with this 5K is to raise funds for the Avoca Hose Company and Ruth’s Place (www.ruthsplace.com), a women’s shelter in Wilkes-Barre; all proceeds will go to these organizations.

The annual Ham Bingo will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 in the church hall. There will be theme baskets, door prizes, and various bingo specials will be available throughout the afternoon.
The kitchen opens at 11 a.m. and a variety of food items and refreshments will be available. The church will also sponsor a bake sale during the bingo.
Admission is $3 per person.

The WELCA is selling potted plants for Easter. Lilies , hyacinths and tulips are available for $6 each and orders are being taken for the Lily cross. Cost is $2 per name.
Following service on Palm Sunday, March 20, Kim Knall, Rita Pahl and Leslie Sauers will sponsor refreshments in the fellowship hall.
The annual Easter egg hunt for the Sunday school students will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26.
Sunday school will not be held on Easter Sunday, March 27. Service will be held at 9 a.m. and Sunday School children will sing at the service.
The Sunday School Penny Auction will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10.

“Summer Doo Wop Cavalcade Show” bus trip to American Music Theater in Lancaster will be on Saturday, June 18 for the 2 p.m. show. Cost is $108 which includes bus seat, driver tip, show ticket, dinner, all tips and taxes. Dinner is at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord following the show. Bus will be at the Pittston Plaza at 9:45 a.m. and will depart promptly at 10 a.m. Reservations must be made no later than March 31.
