WILKES-BARRE — A less imaginative person might notice wire bottle brushes in a store and think, “Hmm. I could use something like that to clean a bottle.”

When Bridget Giunta Husted came across pink and green brushes, she realized the bristles resembled fir trees.

And, that she could attach them to the top of a sturdy little hexagon-shaped box to create a woodland scene.

And, that she could add faux snow for a wintry effect.

“It looks like a nice place to be. I’d like to be among those pretty trees,” said the artist, who suggests the little treasure boxes would be a good place to keep holiday jewelry or other keepsakes.

The boxes are among many items and services you can find at Knot Just Any Day, where Bridget and her husband, Steve, who live in Wyoming, offer photography, videography, stationery design, day-of coordination and handmade decor for weddings and other events.

Their bricks-and-mortar studio, which opened earlier this year next to Marquis Art & Frame in downtown Wilkes-Barre, is filled with holiday gift possibilities, starting with holiday cards the couple designed and crafted.

“It’s a minimalist design,” Steve said, pointing to simple messages such as “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays” printed on colorful backgrounds.

The Valentine line they expect to come out with early next year will be somewhat fancier, Bridget said.

And if you’d like a personalized card, Knot Just Any Day offers portrait sessions that can result in photographs of your family printed as a holiday greeting.

“I love paper,” Steve said, describing sessions during which the couple folded envelopes for maybe 200 wedding invitations and save-the-date cards.

“By the time we get to 190, you don’t love paper so much,” Bridget reminded him with a laugh.

“We get callouses in all kinds of places,” Steve admitted, glancing at his hands.

Look around the Knot Just Any Day studio and you’ll see many other items fashioned from paper, including tree ornaments Bridget crafted from “The Nutcracker” sheet music.

Especially for little girls to enjoy, she’s made bouquets of silvery, blue-hued paper flowers in honor of the movie “Frozen.”

“I just think of what I would have enjoyed when I was a kid,” she said.

The Husteds also carry items made by other artists, including Wax Junky soy candles poured into vintage soda bottles and Vintage Meegan handbags crafted from re-purposed material.

The Husteds plan to visit a trade show at the Javits Convention Center in New York City early next year to find more hand-crafted items from around the country to add to their stock.

“We look for things we’d like to use ourselves,” Steve said.
