SCRANTON — Jewish Family Service of Northeastern Pennsylvania (JFSNEPA) will honor former Scranton Mayor Jim and Susie Blum Connors at its Inaugural Community Recognition Event. The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. June 8 at the Hilton Downtown Hotel and Conference Center.

The Connors will be honored for their work not only for JFS but throughout the community. Jim Connors served as Mayor of Scranton from 1990 to 2002 and Susie Connors was an educator in the Scranton school district for more than 30 years. Today they continue to serve the community through numerous organizations.

The committee for the annual event is comprised of Eric Weinberg, Leah Laury, Maggie Nasser, Mike Noto, Sara Levy, Larissa Schwass, Barbara Nivert, David Kaplan, Alan Smertz, Rabbi Marjorie Berman, Molly Rutta and JFS Board President Jay E. Landau.

Tickets for the event are $100 and can be purchased online at jfsnepa.org or by calling 570-344-1186. Sponsorship and Ad Book opportunities are also available.
