March 20

Victory Temple Miracle Center invites all to attend a pastoral appreciation service in honor of Bishop James Glenn’s 32nd year. The service will be held at the center.

New Meltonville Missionary Baptist Church invites all to attend Family and Friends Day beginning with worship service at 11 a.m. The afternoon program will start at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend and bring a family member or a friend. The church is located at 15482 White Store Road, Peachland.

Calvary Episcopal Church will hold an Evensong service at 6 p.m. The Calvary choir has prepared sacred music particular to the Lenten season and in preparation for Holy Week. The service will honor the life of Lib Taylor and the gifts of her musical talents and love she shared. In remembrance of her, the choir and congregation will give thanksgiving for her through worship and song.

Garris Grove Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the 19th pastoral anniversary of Pastor Roy Lisenby at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Levander Ingram II and at 3 p.m. with Pastor Johnny McCullers. Food will be served between the services.

March 20-27

Solid Rock Baptist Church in Monroe will host Holy Week services beginning on Palm Sunday with Sunday school at 10 a.m., worship service at 11 a.m. and the evening service at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, there will be a Bible study at 7 p.m. with a focus on Genesis. An Easter celebration for children up to 12 years old will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday. The Easter Sunday service will begin with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. and Sunday school at 8 a.m. Breakfast will follow the services. There will be an evening service at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Pastor Terry Little of West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church will be the revivalist speaker at Union Chapel AME Zion Church in Albemarle at 7 p.m. where the Rev. Foster is the pastor.

March 21-25

Easter Holy Week services ill be held from Monday through Friday at 7:30 p.m. each night. There will not be an Easter sunrise service. Johnson’s Chapel Holiness Church will host Monday’s service with Pastor Larry W. Cole Sr. as the speaker. Tuesday’s service will be held at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ with speaker and bishop William Earl Taylor. Sneedsboro A.M.E. Zion Church will host Wednesday’s service with Pastor Michael M. Chambers as the speaker. Thursday’s Holy Communion service will be held at Believers Christian Center Church with the Rev. James A. Blakeney as the speaker. The final service will be held on Friday at Ramsey’s Chapel Church of God with elder Theodore H. Horne as the speaker.

March 21-27

Holy Week services will be sponsored by the Wadesboro Interchurch Council. Each service will begin at noon and last about 35 minutes and will be followed by a light Lenten lunch. On Monday, the service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Morgan Street. On Tuesday, it will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church on East Wade Street. Wednesday’s service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on South Greene Street and will be a combined service with Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On Friday, the service will be held at First Baptist Church on Lee Avenue. An Easter Sunday sunrise service will be held at in the First Presbyterian Church garden on the corner of South Greene and Morgan streets at 7 a.m. In case of rain, the service will be moved to the church fellowship hall. All are invited.

March 23-25

A three-night pre-Easter program will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday with evangelist Brenda Pratt at the Evangelistic Outreach Center in Polkton. It will continue at Word of Truth Church with Joyce Chance at 7 p.m. Thursday. The program will wrap up with co-pastor Vanie Holmes at Christ Chapel of Truth in Wadesboro at 7 p.m. Friday.

March 26

A Better Day Ministry, Inc. will host Liberation 2016- Daughters of the Kingdom Encounter at Henry Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The doors will open at 10 a.m. There will be workshops for youth and adults. The event is free and open to all, the dress code is casual and food will be served. Pee Dee Church of Deliverance on N.C. 145 in Lilesville will have an Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. with the Rev. Bernice Johnson.

Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church’s women’s ministry will sponsor fun for seniors every third Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rock Hill in Lilesville.
