On Friday at 7 p.m., Tim and Myles Thompson, a Nashville father/son duo, will perform and teach a songwriting workshop on Saturday. Kate Campbell will teach songwriting with the Thompsons and then perform at 7 p.m. Saturday. Dori Freeman, a Galax, Virginia, native, will open Saturday with a performance at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per person Friday and $10 per person Saturday. Bring Friday’s ticket to Saturday admission for half-off. Kids 12 and younger are admitted free. Food vendors will be set up, as well as craft beer and wine from Round Peak Winery and Skull Camp Brewery. Parking is free in surrounding lots. The songwriting workshop is free to the first 60 registrants with $10 registration fee covering lunch and T-shirt. • 9 a.m., Chatham Nursing & Rehabilitation will host the Duncan Dash, a family and pet-friendly fun fun/walk to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s dementia population at Elkin Municipal Park, Elkin. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with a balloon send-off ceremony at 9:45 a.m. at the starting line.
