Happy, happy, happy day! This project has been in the planning stages for over a year now. I’m so excited it’s finally done! I can’t believe this is in our house. Ya’ll…check out these before and after photos. I can’t even believe it’s the same place. I feel so proud of our design!

Let’s start at the beginning. The entrance (and the ONLY entrance thanks to us sealing up the hall door!) is in our bedroom. We thought about doing a sliding barn door, but in the end stuck with a regular one for now. We did paint the door white and upgrade our knobs to a pretty oil-rubbed bronze.

When you opened the door, this is what the view used to be. If you remember, there was a closet on the left hand side and a pointless vanity on the right hand side. Sorry, somehow we lost the before-before pictures of this, so this is a bit after some demo, but you can see the general idea:

We took out the vanity and made it into another closet, giving us two master closets. They are tiny, but for the first time in our married life we each have our own closet!!!

Aren’t those closet doors lovely? It makes me feel like we’re in a hotel/spa or something. As you see we carried our flooring from the rest of the house into the closet area. We also added the new light fixture you see.

The bathroom was/is T shaped. So if you had been standing in the (now gone) hall entrance, this is what you used to see. Eeek. Another long, kind of pointless vanity to the left with a tiny room that had one super small sink, toilet and shower at the end.

We reworked the space entirely, removed that weird little room and added a double vanity. Which, again—for the first time in almost SIX years…I have my very own sink!!!!

Here’s a view from the other side:

And, of course….the piece de resistance! Our glorious shower!!! Much better now!

So that’s it. You guys…this remodel—the whole house!—is DONE.

Well, you know. Not really done. Never fully finished but at this point every single room from floor to ceiling has been ripped out and totally replaced. Sniff. It’s the little engine that could. We made it!
